What Rewards do Non-Zelda Amiibo Give in Skyrim Switch?

If you tap pretty much any other amiibo (or Animal Crossing card) you’ll be rewarded with items including food, gems, gold, weapons and armor. You can’t get Zelda themed items from non-zelda amiibo.

Can you get the Zelda Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champions Tunic in Skyrim Switch Without Amiibo?

The good news is that, yes, you can get the Zelda gear (Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic) in Skyrim Switch without using amiibo. The bad news is that getting them isn’t easy and will likely take a fair amount of time.

To get the Zelda Skyrim items you’ll need to climb to the top of The Throat of the World. This is a large mountain near to Ivarstead (and once you’re higher up, near to High Hrothgar).

Ivarstead is signposted from quite near the start of Skyrim so isn’t hard to find. The problem is that High Hrothgar can’t be entered at the start of the game. It is possible to climb up the mountain to the side of High Hrothgar and then drop in over the locked gate, but the stairs leading further up the mountain are blocked and require you have progressed a decent chunk into Skyrim’s story.

The wind blocking your path up the stairs to the highest point of The Throat of the World can only be cleared by using the Clear Skies dragon shout. Clear Skies (which is made of three words, each making the effects last longer) can be learned from the Greybeards after Alduin's Wall quest. Check out our Alduin’s Wall quest guide and walkthrough for all the info you need to get the Clear Skies shout.

Once you have Clear Skies you can use it to clear the extreme weather on the path leading out of High Hrothgar and make your way to the top of The Throat of the World. At the top you’ll find a chest containing the Zelda Master Sword, Hylian Shield, and Champion’s Tunic.

Can you Cheat and Climb The Throat of the World Mountain Early?

While it’s relatively easy to get into High Hrothgar without reaching that point in the game by climbing up the mountain face to the settlement’s side, going further to the peak is tough. While we’ve seen YouTube videos showing it being done (using a horse apparently makes this easier), it’s not a fun or rewarding experience, and will likely cause you a lot of frustration and wasted time. Attempt to climb up the mountain face if you want, but don’t cry to us if you spend hours and get nowhere.
