Call of Duty: WW2 Best Rifles Guide

Rifles are arguably the main class of weaponry in this iteration of Call of Duty, when it comes to the multiplayer side of things. The rifles in the game mainly focus on firepower, beating out that of the sub-machine gun weapons, but they aren't nearly as powerful as the light machine guns or shotguns in the game. They do have other benefits besides firepower however, including a rapid fire rate, solid reload speed, and steady accuracy.

Just below, we'll be running down the best rifles in Call of Duty: WW2, based on our time with the game so far. We'll note all the various strengths and weaknesses with each weapons, as there are a litany to be found based on the game mode you're taking the particular rifle in to.

Bar - Call of Duty: WW2 Rifle

The BAR is undoubtedly one of the best overall weapons in Call of Duty: WW2, let alone in the rifles subsection. What the BAR somewhat lacks in accuracy, it more than makes up for in sheer firepower, with a decent fire rate to back it up. Considering that you can get attachments like Steady Aim that drastically increase the accuracy of the BAR, it's always a weapon to go no matter the situation.

In terms of what multiplayer game modes you want to equip the BAR for, there's honestly not a wrong answer. The BAR excels in taking out players quickly and effectively, so Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All are obviously solid choices, but it's also great at taking and holding an area, and so it's great weapon to use in Domination or Hardpoint.

STG44 - Call of Duty: WW2 Rifle

Coming in strong at the second position for the best rifle in Call of Duty: WW2, the STG44 might not boast as much damage as the BAR, but it has an excellent fire rate. Because of the relatively low damage and range of the STG44, it's a weapon best used in fairly close quarters, unless you can level it up enough to unlock the Steady Aim and other accuracy-enhancing attachments for it.

For game modes that the STG44 excels at, you'll likely want to go for straight killing-orientated games. While it's a great weapon to use in both Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All, it's also a good weapon to use in Kill Confirmed and War, particularly when you're defending a point against attackers in the latter mode.

M1941 - Call of Duty: WW2 Rifle

For our third weapon in the best rifles in Call of Duty: WW2 rankings, we're actually going back to the very first rifle you'll start with in the game: the M1941. While this weapon might seem overly basic given that you start with it, the M1941 actually packs a punch, while also boasting the best fire rate out of every rifle in Call of Duty: WW2.

Because of the excellent fire rate of the M1941, as well as the solid damage and accuracy of the weapon, there's not really a bad game mode to use this weapon for. It's a brilliant weapon for taking down players incredibly quickly in Deathmatch games, and it's also good for clearing out or defending a point in either Hardpoint or Domination.

M1 Garand - Call of Duty: WW2 Rifle

This might sound like a slightly strange option for one of the best rifles in Call of Duty: WW2, but the M1 Garand is actually a brilliant weapon, when placed in the hands of someone with a quick trigger finger.

The M1 Garand might be a semi automatic weapon, but it can take out virtually any player in two hits to the torso region, or even one headshot if the player is already injured. Therefore, it's a solid weapon to use at range, and we'd strongly recommend going for the M1 Garand when you find yourself in a wide open map.

That's it for our best rifles in Call of Duty: WW2 rankings guide, but rest assured that we'll be continually working our way through every other category of weapon in the game, giving you guides to the best few weapons for every class to use.
