How to Unlock Destiny 2's Pre-Order Coldheart Weapon and Pre-Order Items

If you pre-ordered Destiny 2, you're probably looking forward to the Exotic weapon Coldheart pre-order bonus, as seen below with Big Show.

Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until you complete the main campaign of Destiny 2, and hit the base level cap of 20, before you can collect Coldheart from the Gunsmith at the Farm.

Two other items, a Legendary sword and a special Kill-Tracker Ghost Shell, are also pre-order bonuses, but these items can also only be claimed after beating the main campaign of the game.

But, there are a few pre-order items you can collect now, including a Legendary Salute Emote and an exclusive Cabal-themed Emblem, both of which can be found inside the Vault at the Farm.

How Long Have I Played Destiny 2 for?

Destiny 2 is a game that you'll likely want to play for days, if not weeks, if not months on end. Although there are plenty of bragging rights up for grabs over your Power Level, another point of contention is time played. But how can you see how long you've played Destiny 2 for?

A handy website, going by the name D2Checklist, lets you check how long you've been playing Destiny 2 for. You simply have to enter your PSN or Xbox Live profile name, and your time played and level info appears. Pretty handy!

How to Create a Destiny 2 Clan

There are many benefits of either joining or setting up your own Destiny 2 Clan. Firstly, it allows you to band together with your friends to take on Crucible, Strike, Raid, and other activities, and when your Clan friends earn rewards while you aren't playing alongside them, you earn the reward they gained as well.

To either create or join a specific Clan, head over to the official Bungie.net site, where you can set up your Clan for your friends to join through the same page, or join a Clan that has already been set up.

Destiny 2 Graphics Comparison - PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One

Now Destiny 2 has been playable on the PS4, Xbox One and PS4 Pro, thanks to the Destiny 2 Beta, we’ve had a chance to see how well it performs (and looks) on each console. A variety of videos showing comparison footage have been released, which we’ll detail for you below.

Destiny 2 - PS4 vs PS4 Pro Comparison

The first video shows Destiny 2 running on a PS4 and the PS4 Pro. Differences outside of resolution are minimal, and you can see that the frame rate of each version is locked at 30 fps.

Destiny 2 - PS4 vs Xbox One Comparison

Next up is a video comparing the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Destiny 2. Again, differences are minimal.

The good news is that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Destiny 2 appear to be more or less the same in their visual makeup, aside from the fact that on Xbox One the resolution is more variable. This is something that the PS4 Pro version of Destiny 2 makes use of too, but that version of the game is aiming to reach 4k rather than the 1080p of the Xbox One game.

Will Destiny 2 Support Cross-Platform Play and Saving? Can PS4 owners play with Xbox One owners?

Despite an outcry from fans in support of cross-saves between consoles and PC for Destiny 2, Bungie has revealed that the game will not support this feature, and will also not be supporting any cross-platform play between either console or PC.

The ability to cross-save between console and PC could be critical to the success of Destiny 2 on PC, as the game launches over a month after the console versions. This would allow some of the hardcore Destiny 2 players to start their characters off on console, before carrying their progress over to the PC version of the game.

As it is, the more hardcore Destiny 2 players won't want to miss out on the game for over a month, and will likely invest in the console version of the game instead of the PC version, even if they own a powerful PC that could run Destiny 2 in 4K at 60fps.

Destiny 2's New Social Hub - The Farm

In Destiny 2 the much-loved Tower is no more. The social space so familiar to players of the original game is being replaced by The Farm. IGN got a first look at The Farm, and we’ve broken down the key info for you below.

  • The Farm appears to be a similar size to The Tower.
  • It includes a Cryptarch, Tyra Karn - previously seen in Rise of Iron.
  • It also includes a Postmaster robot for checking your mail.
  • A football pitch is included, complete with goals and a scoreboard.
  • 26 players can be in an instance of The Farm at once.
  • The Farm will change over time, adding new human survivors and specific key characters.

The Farm is located in the European Dead Zone, where you can encounter Fallen, Taken, The Red Legion, and more challenging enemies. For all this and more, including a brand new vendor in the region, head over to our Destiny 2 European Dead Zone guide.

Destiny 2 Supers

The Dawnblade super ability allows the Warlock to produce a huge, flaming sword for a limited time, which they can use to send bolts of fire at enemies far off, or strike nearby foes with the blade itself. The ability looks to be the most powerful of the three that were shown off at the gameplay reveal event in LA.

The Sentinel super ability, for the Titan class, allows players to form a giant energy shield, exactly how Commander Zavala did in the gameplay demo reveal itself. As the Titan class is designed to be the toughest of the three, this ability can shield everyone around them from destruction.

Finally, the Hunter class can wield a large staff with acrobatic ease through the Arcstrider super ability. This ability focusses on the natural nimble abilities of the Warlock class, and looks like it allows players to race round the battlefield at a slightly increased speed.

However all this apparently comes at a slight cost, as it appears that the Bladedancer, Sunsinger, and Defender abilities from the first Destiny will be replaced by new abilities in Destiny 2.

There will be three new weapon slots for Guardians: Kinetic, Energy, and Power. Strikes will also make a return, with the Inverted Spire Strike being playable at the show, for those attending. Crucible will now be 4v4 across all modes, and a new mode, Countdown, was also available to be played at the show.

Lost Sectors, mysterious new locations marked on your map by characters throughout the game, will reveal new challenges and bosses to the player in Destiny 2. Four brand new locations were also briefly shown, called Nessus, Io, Titan, and the European Dead Zone, the latter of which is slated to be the largest single map space in the game.

Clans will be implemented more heavily Destiny 2, which are optional teams players can join that will be supported in-game, with rosters and more tools including custom Banners. There will also be a shared reward system for all players within the Clan, meaning that all players can gain a shared reward, no matter the work they put in.

Guided Games, another new addition to Destiny 2, allows single players to be paired up with a Clan, meaning that you don't necessarily have to join a Clan to reap the rewards from playing alongside one in co-operative game modes.

Bungie went into depth on the Guided Games feature, a matchmaking ability that would let single players join groups of other players, to take part in Raids, Nightfalls, and other activities that require a team.

No More Random Weapon Stat Rolls in Destiny 2

Speaking recently to Mashable, director Luke Smith revealed that 'weapon rolls' would be eliminated in Destiny 2. Weapons could sometimes have randomised perks in the original Destiny, leading for players to grind away for hours and hours in order to obtain their preferred version of the same weapon.

This won't be the case in Destiny 2, as all weapons will now have fixed stats and perks, meaning you won't come across the same weapon with different perks and abilities. Grinding for a specific loot item now just got a whole lot more straightforward.

Destiny 2 PS4 Exclusive Content

Activision and Bungie have revealed that PS4 owners will get exclusive content for Destiny 2, with PC and Xbox One players not getting their hands on it until some point in 2018.

The PlayStation 4 Destiny 2 exclusive content includes:

  • Exclusive Strike, called Lake of Shadows
  • Exclusive PvP map
  • Exclusive Exotic weapon

Destiny 2 Will Not Have Dedicated Servers

In a weekly blog post over on the official Bungie website, the developer delved into why Destiny 2 wouldn't feature dedicated servers for multiplayer activities, stating that the sequel would use a "hybrid of client-server and peer-to-peer technology."

Engineering executive Matt Segur said that Bungie had invested heavily in new server tech, including cloud servers for gameplay, a feature that wasn't in the original Destiny. Bungie did reveal that every activity in Destiny 2 would be hosted by a server, meaning there would be no more host migration while performing activities such as a Raid attempt or Trials match.

Bungie acknowledged that this brings "unique security challenges" in preventing cheating on the PC version of Destiny 2, but stated that they "have a variety of top-secret strategies to ensure that the life of a cheater in Destiny 2 PC will be nasty, brutish, and short." The developer followed up, reassuring fans that all changes to characters are communicated directly to a secure data center, with no peer-to-peer interference whatsoever.
