Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Rare Blades Guide

Just below, you'll find a complete breakdown of all the rare Blades in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, including how you can obtain them, which Drivers they can be used by, and what Field Skills they specialise in.

Bear in mind that there are spoilers for the story of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 from here on, as we'll be revealing unique Blades that are obtained late in the story of the game, that give away some pretty crucial plot points.

What Are Rare Blades?

As we previously mentioned, Blades are what Drivers equip in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and basically act as a weapon for the Driver to use in battle. There are tons of individual Blades throughout the game for Rex and co. to uncover and try out, but there are only a select few which wield extraordinary power, known as Rare Blades.

You might note from the pictures just below that Rare Blades have unique art styles, designed entirely differently from any other Blade in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is because they're actually designed by different Japanese artists, styled individually to stand out from the crowd. All Rare Blades are far more powerful than standard Blades, and boast some deadly Driver Art abilities, as well as some handy Field Skills.

How to Get Rare Blades

We've listed out all the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Rare Blades that you can find in the game, but how do you actually go about obtaining them? As we explain in detail over on our Core Crystals guide, there are three types of Core Crystals in the game: Normal, Legendary, and Rare.

Rare and Legendary Core Crystals obviously give you a better chance of unlocking a Rare Blade than a normal Core Crystal does, as the outcome of unlocking a Core Crystal is entirely randomised. But getting hold of a Rare or Legendary Core Crystal is extremely difficult, as although they can sometimes be found through beating incredibly tough enemies in combat, or through story progression, you'll otherwise have to scavenge around the map and salvage points in the hope of uncovering an elite Core Crystal.

Now that we're done with these Rare Blades, why not continue ahead to our additional Xenoblade Chronicles 2 guides, including how to master every Driver Class, as well as how to master the combat of the game.
