The Oman Au Shrine is the very first you'll encounter in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is home to the Magnesis Trial, which focuses on moving metal objects with the Magnesis rune ability. Being the first it's pretty simple, essentially introducing the rune mechanics, but we've got a rundown for you in case you have any trouble. Magnesis is used throughout the adventure, so the skills you learn here will be important for hours to come.
Chances are you won't need this guide as we're dealing with the game's opening gambit (we've included it becuse we're nice). If you require more advanced help, head over to our Breath of the Wild tips and quest walkthrough article.
After activating the Great Plateau Tower, make your way to the mysterious glowing shrine in the north east of the region and examine the terminal by using your Sheikah Slate device. Enter the Oman Au Shrine by activating the lift. You're about to tackle your first Trial.
The Magnesis Trial Solution
Examine the portal in the far left corner. This unlocks the Magnesis rune ability, allowing you to lift and move heavy metallic objects.
Use your new rune ability to lift the large metal panels in the centre of the room, revealing a ladder to an underground area.
Make your way through to the next room and remove the metal cube from the brick wall.
With the wall collapsed you can easily climb through into the next area, although be prepared to fight a mechanical spider. The spider will fire energy blasts at you, so your best option is to use your bow and arrow from distance.
Walk towards the end of the room, stopping after you've crossed the bridge. Use the Magnesis ability to move the metal panel that served as a bridge, placing it over the gap that was previously stopping you from crossing to the final section containing the two large metal gates. Pull the gates open using your Magnesis and you've reached the end of the Magnesis Trial. You'll be rewarded with a Spirit Orb.
Return to the Plateau tower and use your scope (click in the right stick to activate) to search for new shrines. The remaining shrines in The Isolated Plateau quest can be tackled in any order (although cold areas require warmth, either from the Warm Doublet or from fire), so the choice of what to tackle next is up to you.
Head to the Ja Baij Shrine and Beat the Bomb Trial, the Keh Namut Shrine and Beat the Cryonis Trial, or the Owa Daim Shrine and Beat the Stasis Trial.
