Separated from the cohesive whole, even the most innocuous of statements can appear, well, as weird as Yankovic. Now, try to imagine if these out-of-context remarks were being generated by someone like Peter Molyneux. What would happen then? More importantly, if someone were to make games out of all those 'this probably does not mean what you think it means' comments, what would you get? These are just some of the questions that MolyJam 2013 is hoping to answer.
In case you were wondering, the MolyJam is a game jam. It's one of those events that requires its participants to hammer out a playable game in a ridiculously short amount of time. A weekend, to be exact. This weekend, if you want to be even more precise. While the first MolyJam had attendees designing games based on things that Peter Molydeux tweeted, Molyjam Deux wants people building stuff around what Peter Molyneux himself has said.
It's going to be hilarious. The organizers have come up with a list of 60, thought-provoking 'quotes' and they include gems like "The touch, the grab, the stroke, all of those things we're going to be obsessed about," and "I still have nightmares about holding German sausages over my head."
Molyjam 2013 is scheduled to begin at 6pm your local time regardless of where that might be. If you're lucky enough to be in a city that has an actual jam site, you should totally consider dropping by and making a game. We'll be doing as much here in San Francisco. At least, I will.
.. wish me luck.
