In the wake of the reveal of Hearthstone's latest expansion, Blizzard revealed the first 14 cards in Kobolds & Catacombs during their Hearthstone: What's Next panel at BlizzCon. Even better, Blizzard announced that all players will be receiving a special surprise on November 6.

Among the first 14 cards are Legendary Weapons for each class and Unidentified Items—cards with a randomized side effect.

Spellstones will be another new mechanic. These are cards that begin in their lesser form at the beginning of the game, but becomes more powerful as the game progresses.

Some will be empowered by gaining armor, others by casting spells. The Shaman's Lesser Sapphire Spellstone copies a friendly minion for 7 mana—a powerful effect to be sure. But by overloading your mana crystals and upgrading the card, you can summon two additional minions and earn instant board control.

Here are the rest of the cards unveiled to date:

  • 8 Mana: Marin the Fox
  • 4 Mana: Kobold Illusionist
  • 2 Mana: Drygulch Jailor
  • 5 Mana: Carnivorous Cube
  • 6 Mana: Rin the First Disciple
  • 5 Mana: Guild Recuiter.
    Legendary Weapons:

  • 6 Mana: Aluneth
  • 3 Mana: Dragon Soul

  • 2 Mana: Wandering Monster (Hunter Secret)
  • 7 Mana: Sapphire Spellstone
  • 1 Mana: Jasper Spellstone
  • 3 Mana: Unidentified Elixir (Can have multiple random effects)
  • 7 Mana: Crushing Walls
  • 6 Mana: Gather Your Party

To tease the new expansion, Blizzard will be giving out a free copy of the legend Marin the Fox on November 6, when pre-orders go live. Marin the Fox will be available for free all the way up until Kobolds & Catacombs launches, though only BlizzCon attendees will receive a gold version. Players will also receive a free random Legendary Weapon when the expansion goes live in December.

As Blizzard previously revealed, Kobolds & Catacombs' most interesting new feature is its Dungeon Runs—a free single-player challenge mode in which you upgrade novice decks in the course of facing off against randomized monsters.

Kololds & Catacombs will be out in December. Here's our complete guide to everything revealed in Hearthstone's new expansion so far.
