Upcoming PUBG Patch Lets You Report Cheaters From Replays

Oh, there are some new costumes too.

The team behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) adding a few new features to the game's test server in preparation for live service. The biggest addition is that players can now report suspected cheaters directly from the in-game replay feature. The Replay feature allows players to record everything that happens within 1km around their character for later review. Once a replay is recorded, you can jump around and see what others were doing in your match. The game saves your last 20 matches when the feature is on.

With the addition of the report button to the replay feature, players can take a look at what they believe is cheating behavior and likely forward that evidence along with their report.

"This means that you no longer need to be killed by a suspected cheater for you to be able to use the in-game reporting tool. We encourage you to use the replay report tool as it is an effective and efficient way of making us aware of the players who are undermining your enjoyment of the game," said the PUBG Community team in its Steam post.

There are a number of smaller tweaks and optimizations to the game that will be rolling to the test server. Cover around La Bendita in Miramar has been increased, visible distance while parachuting in was lowered to improve performance, and team colors have been changed a bit.

One big addition is a new set of crates. One crate will be free to open, while the other requires keys. When you buy a crate with Battle Points (BP), you'll get one of the four available crates, with a higher chance of grabbing a new crate. There's also the new Early Birds keys, which will open the new locked crates and the old Gamescom Invitational crates.

Inside the new unlocked crates, you'll have a 40 percent chance to find items from the new Biker outfit, while the new Desperado outfit will be found in the new locked crates at the same rate. Like other outfits, these are completely cosmetic in nature.

All these changes are planned for the PC version of PUBG, but the Xbox One version is seeing an update as well.
