Utterly Stunning GTA V Time-Lapse Video

Think Grand Theft Auto V's graphics and atmospherics look really cool? You ain't seen nothin' yet.

By Jaz Rignall. Published 5 months ago

The quality of Grand Theft Auto V's graphics and environmental effects is really quite incredible. But perhaps you haven't yet seen just how spectacular they can look.

The extremely talented folks over at Digital Foundry have spent many hours patiently shooting video in and around Los Santos to create this outstanding video, showing the hustle and bustle of life in GTA V as the game transitions from night to day - and how the game's amazing atmospheric effects change the lighting and ambiance.

Their efforts were certainly worth it. What they've created is like a modern day digital version of Koyaanisqatsi (and if you don't know what that is, we strongly suggest you look it up).

This video, more than anything else I've seen of GTAV, makes me want to buy the game.

Pretty. Though it mostly makes me wish for more games with environments this lovingly crafted that aren't also full of characters and themes I hate.
(It also makes me a little nostalgic for the west coast...)
