@mattcom26 I kinda hope the tie-in is just a reskinned version of the original. Or maybe a collection of all the games (some of the later ones were better than the critics gave them credit for).

@donkeyintheforest and@everyone else still following this thread
First, now I'm kinda hungry for lasagna :-)
More importantly, I think there's merit to the idea that the creator should have some say in when a game is "finished" as opposed to simply "available". The restaurant can serve up some ground beef, maybe in a red sauce they plan to use in the final product, and sell it "as is", as a way to inform the consumer of what they have in mind for their lasagna. But the consumer saying "this is enough of a meal to me" doesn't make it the dish the cook wants to be judged by, no matter how good it may be already.

One point not mentioned was this. In the event Battlegrounds should win GOTY in its current, non-"finished" form, would it still be eligible again next year, when it is "finished"? Of course, this assumes nothing else challenges it for said title, but still. Would Mario+Rabbids or Fire Embem Warriors be re-eligible next year, should the not-yet released DLC warrant it?
There has to be a line, and I think I'm on Kat's side of it here.

I remember suggesting this years ago. I guess the tech finally caught up.
It makes sense, really. In a world where Take Tow is still raking in microtransaction cash from four year old games, this almost seems reasonable.

Who the actual fuck is buying Shark cards in GTA Online? With little effort, I had full garages of fully modded cars, every assault vehicle, planes, every weapon (always fully loaded), and most every outfit, without ever spending any actual money outside of the purchase of the game itself. And I STILL had multiple millions of dollars in the bank. And this was all still on the 360 version, which had fewer money making opportunities.

@Retro-Plissken I'm not actually sure they have. It seems to me most of them are still here, or coming, but aren't as exciting for the audience now as they used to be.
The article mentioned the waning sales numbers for Gears and Halo ("waning" might not be the right word, exactly), but I don't see the franchise here that wasn't also there before. Forza is here, and Crackdown is coming. And Sea of Thieves never even came up.
I think PS4 did a better job of selling their console out the gate this time around, and Xbox is playing catch up. Because the games are there, at least when compared to last gen.

I wonder IF they would bring them all together. At the risk of sounding condescending (which means I'm totally going to), would your average moviegoer have the mindset to process the the X universe getting layered into the MCU? Sure, you've got the Reality stone in play now, thanks to the Infinity Gauntlet, so logistically it's feasible, but how do you convey that in one movie?
Or, even worse, do you have to do another reboot? It worked for Spider-Man (twice), but that's a far more universally known character than, say, Colossus or Storm.

Mercenaries 2. It did what good video game sequels should do; it took the core concept of the original, and built upon it with new mechanics and an improved experience. Venezuela made for a (literally) more colorful world in which to play, and online co-op, while buggy, was amazing when it worked as intended. It's regrettable that it had to be an EA property, as that likely means we'll never see a Mercenaries 3.

I wonder if they put Flashpoint out there early, just to have a built-in "redo" if things go pear-shaped on them. I'd rather they just ride this out and correct on the way, but that seems the sensible thing to do, so they likely won't do that.

I used to sing that song whenever I was counting change in the drawer where I worked in high school. I always grin whenever I find someone else who remembers it.
