As long as it has the single-player campaign mode and the arcade mode (and assuming it runs well), I'm set.Edited 4 days ago by Unknown

Glad to hear that it was brought to their attention and then they removed it with no fuss and said, "sorry, we didn't know". Good on them.

(I kinda wish you had had Caty on the podcast to be the voice of dissent/reason. I also wasn't really into Bravely Default and it would've been nice to hear some critical more questions about the demo.)

"Pay-to-win" is a harsh, dirty phrase in multiplayer games because it means your game is a straight up unfair competition.

So it's really strange to hear it used to refer to something in Mario Odyssey (a single-player game) where buying character buffs or hints or whatever doesn't break the game for anyone but you.

DOOM is probably my favorite game from last year, so yeah, assuming it's good, I'll buy it again on Switch. Although I really hope the framerate stays sharp, even if it means a significant downgrade in visuals.

It seems crazy to me that Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are separate entries while the Sonic Advance games and the Sonic Rush games are crammed together into single entries. Especially since the Sonic Advance games are all quite different (1 and 3 are decent in different ways, 2 is kinda awful). I also find the Dimps (Wii/PS2) version of Sonic Unleashed to be significantly better than than the Sonic Team (X360/PS3) version.

In another world where Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles were a combined entry, I would place Sonic 3 & Knuckles at #2 right behind Sonic 2.

So glad to see positive reviews for this game. As a Sonic fan who hasn't liked any Sonic game since Sonic Colors, I was really rooting for the Sonic Mania team, and it sounds like they did a good job. Can't wait to play this tomorrow.

Also, I thought Sonic 2 totally had the terrible stretched split-screen thing (but maybe it doesn't seem quite as bad since that game isn't widescreen)?

The "Monitor Mode" filter in the first two Legacy Collections was actually fantastic, and it's omission in Legacy Collection 2 is really sad for me, since it would've looked fantastic over MM9/MM10.

Also, Kat is correct that Mega Man 9 is one of the top two Mega Man games. Everyone else on the podcast is crazy.

(Everyone on the podcast says it's too hard, but like, compare to Mega Man 2: Jewel Man's level is less cheap than Quick Man's memorization lasers, Plug Man's disappearing blocks are less cheap than Heat Man's disappearing blocks, etc etc.)

I knew it wasn't going to happen, but I was secretly hoping that Capcom would put in an option similar to Digital Eclipse's "Monitor Mode" so that I could play Mega Man 9 with great-looking scanlines.

...but hey, it's Mega Man 9 on modern platforms. As long as they didn't mess it up, I'm already sold.

FYI, the link "Advanced Wars--about Fire Emblem" goes to the site ? ...also, I'm assuming that the "Advanced" is a typo and should be "Advance Wars".
