For American cartoons I would go with a Beetlejuice game in the vein of Mario Galaxy. That world is insane and has many different ways you can go with it and many subworlds within it.

For Japanese cartoons I would choose Fist of the North Star with the Witcher 3 engine. That would be insane. Awesome martial arts and 80s cheese and insane stories with being able to have a free roaming open world to represent the huge world that the anime series represented.

@UnskippableCutscene I wouldn't down vote you for not liking something that I love. But you should realize that the aspects of it that you don't like, especially "too intellectual", are some of the things that make others of us love it even more. Yes, I'm a huge fan of classic literature and can always go back to Joyce and Dickens and Poe and such for their wonderful Victorian era writing. But in video games that opportunity is seldom presented. Those who don't like that style of language have every other rpg to go to, so you have a fallback. As someone who does read a ton of classic literature, though, it wasn't just the translation and dialogue that lent to it's flavor. The accents and style were very much appropriate, they were not out of place at all. The story itself is classic in the best sense of the word. I may have given a small criticism to it if it was out of place.

Noooooooo!!! I'm trying to Platinum Disgaea V, you are going to coerce me into breaking out one of my copies of FF XII and going through it again. Great article though. T.T Love this game so much.

I already have over 80 hours of gameplay in on this game because my progress on the demo transferred over. I definitely can tell that I'll be getting the platinum trophy for Disgaea 5. I haven't even come close to finishing the main story yet, although I've unlocked 2 of the bad endings so far. Each new feature totally distracts me with exploring it as I unlock them. But, as a huge fan of the franchise, I always knew this one would be right up my alley. I just wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is.

@cldmstrsn The GBA version of Final Fantasy V is the definitive version thus far. If you can find a way to play it, do so.

@cldmstrsn@prymusferal That is an interesting point about the rule of three there. I have to admit that it works out for me as well other than liking IV and V a lot more than III, I do definitely consider VI, IX, and XII my three favorites. Hopefully that means good things for XV. I'm a total sap, so the Celes opera song is the song that is usually in my head. But every now and then... that Kefka laugh shows up. One of the greatest characters in video game history.

Oh, and as I have stated many times on here. I so need a FF XII International Version HD update on my PS4. I will spend $100 for that easily without breaking a sweat. That game is so deep that you can play it for hundreds of hours without feeling any grindiness, in my opinion.Edited October 2015 by Unknown

@cldmstrsn I agree with you. I've enjoyed every Final Fantasy game. And I actually love a lot of the "weird ones" more than the popular ones. For example, VII is one of my least favorite, and XII, X-2, and XIII-2 are 3 of my favorites. My favorite all time will probably be VI though. But every Final Fantasy is a special game and a special event for me. I can't wait for XV, but I'll still be playing XIV for a long time to come. All my classes are 52-57 other than DRK which has been my 60 main since about 2 weeks after Heavensward released.

I wish that the release date would hurry and get here. I've already put 28 hours into the demo, which is only the first 5 maps worth of the game. I've already unlocked all possible classes that you can at this point, including the very difficult Sage (Rank 4 Magic Knight, and Rank 2 Professor). But I suppose that shows what these Disgaea games do to me, I get obsessed with them. Wish they would have at least stopped it after the item world unlocks, or at least some other nice things like the skill instructor. But at least I have over half of the nursing rewards already and almost all the humanoid classes (think there are only one or two left), and the save will transfer over to the game proper.

I own a gaming PC, a PS4, and a Wii-U (also a New 3DS XL and a Vita, which I play a ton, but those weren't included). While I'm glad to have all 3 of those, the Wii-U currently collects a lot of dust. It's my exclusive Nintendo releases and Bayonetta machine. Most of my gaming is on PS4 with a few (especially FFXIV) on my PC. Frankly I don't see myself getting the XBox One any time soon, my 360 ended up collecting dust as well and ended up regretting that purchase. I'm much more into "Japanese style" gaming, and I really don't see how anyone could objectively convince me that the XBox One is a better machine or console.
