I also find the subject fascinating. Before playing Youkai Watch a few years back, I wanted to find out more about what Youkai are. This book is great for that. It's a short read with many illustrations and backstories for the most famous Youkai.

Could Strauss Zelnick be talking about global sales numbers? Like you said, the NBA is pretty popular abroad, so maybe US+EU+Other sales of NBA 2K are higher than Madden's numbers? There's no chance that NBA 2K is more popular than FIFA, but more popular than Madden might actually be possible.

@Happy-Mask-Salesman Every adapter starting with the DSi generation will work, the DS Light adapter won't.

@Ralek Yup, no worries. There's a small red dot above the screen next to the camera. Im not quite sure how it works(probably similar to Kinect or a reverse Wiimote tracking your eyes), but it does work very well in the dark. The only instance were the 3D effect won't work as advertised is outside in direct sunlight, but it's hard to play any handheld under these circumstances, so that's not really a knock against the n3DS.

Also, everyone who's owned and liked the "old" 3DSXL: Buy the "new" 3DSXL; The faceplates are a nice gimmick (straight from 90s cellphones), the colors are a lot nicer, the screen is a tad sharper and the portability is better, BUT nothing beats the form factor/screen size of the XL version if you have normal to large sized hands and like 3D.

@MarsGame You have to buy a microSD card and if you wanna switch cards, you'll need a screwdriver to remove the backplate, so it's definitely less comfortable if you regularly switch cards.

@ldave No, I don't think glasses-free 3D will ever work flawlessly; but the n3DS is getting pretty close. I think the tech works by tracking your head as well as both of your eyes. If you look away from the screen and than look at it again, the n3DS needs about half a second to readjust itself to your position. I've also noticed that it works better when you play inside while there's a light source in the room, maybe because the cameras can find you better because of the reflections in your eyes?

Other than that, the effect is a lot better than before and like I said in the other post, the n3DS has turned me into someone who cranks up the slider all the way, even during visual novels.

edit: Just re-read your comment, if you mean "does it work flawlessly while not looking away from the screen" than the answer is yes.Edited 2 times. Last edited January 2015 by Unknown

@Ralek I've been using a Japanese n3DSXL since launch after making the switch from 3DS to 3DSXL. The head-tracking was a game-changer for me. I didn't expect much of an improvement from the 3D-effect going in, but now I won't turn it off. I've never used the 3D effect on the old 3DS systems because it was an unstable mess. The n3DS produces a stable 3D image with an viewing angle of about 120-140 degree (horizontally and vertically). This means you can use it on the bus or on a bumpy plane ride. The 3D effect also feels more natural to me; it's hard to describe, but when using the old 3DS with 3D on, my eyes got tired pretty quickly and I'd turn it off. The new 3D effect is more akin to looking inside a small window that is physically in front of your face. It's even enjoyable in games like the Ace Attorney Trilogy where you do a lot of reading. It gives the game a subtle "pop" without feeling uncomfortable to read.

If you enjoy playing in 3D, go with the n3DSXL. I've tried out both new 3DS versions and the effect is better on a bigger screen. Otherwise, both are great gaming machines well worth their price even if there (probably) won't be a lot of exclusive games for the system.
