Definitely not surprised in the least by this. I was already planning on getting the PS4 and Switch versions, so no big deal.

My main take away from seeing Star Wars today was confusion as to exactly what about the movie was causing so much hate. Yeah, it definitely could have used a good bit of editing, but that’s about it. It was a perfectly fine Star Wars film and I just don’t see what makes people want to pretend it’s not canon.

I gotta say that I disagree to a certain extent. I feel like 4K and HDR truly did help elevate Horizon above other similar games. It had it all: art direction, gameplay, and graphics. I felt so immersed in the world because it was just so flipping beautiful.

I think most people can agree that Aliens is an infinitely better movie than Alien Resurrection, and if I had to choose between watching Aliens on VHS or Alien Resurrection on 4K blu-ray, well, its not much of a choice; I would obviously rather watch Aliens on VHS. HOWEVER! It doesn't have to be either/or. Give me Aliens in 4K and just do it all. Does anyone really think that if the Switch had been more powerful and BotW ran in 4K it would suddenly suck? No. I'm sure it would have taken longer to make, but so what?Edited 5 weeks ago by Unknown

Any word on whether the I and II PS4 ports are going to come out in English?

I would rather have a direct sequel to X, but short of that, I’d love a Switch port. X was a better game than the original and I’d love a chance to play it on the go.

I am thankful for Valkyria Chronicles 4 being announced! I've been a fan of the series since day 1, managed to enjoy VC2 and found an English patch to allow me to play VC3, and I'm just thrilled that the series is alive and (hopefully) well.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be totally on my own with this opinion, but I'm so tired of Pokemon. It seems to be just a constant thing now and I'm so over it. I know that it makes Nintendo buckets of money, but can't it just go away for a year or two?

On the subject of loot boxes/microtrasactions in RPGs, I don't particularly mind paid DLC for costumes or skins like in FFXV. Loot boxes are annoying, even when they're just cosmetic like in Overwatch. Why can't I just get stuff for the characters I play most instead of another random voice or something for a character I never use? When it really becomes insidious though is when you pair paid DLC with randomized chance. Yes, it's always best when things can just be earned in-game with reasonable time investment, but the random nature of loot boxes is just never appealing.

Oh what I wouldn't give for a sequel (spiritual or direct) to Vagrant Story of Final Fantasy Tactics. Honestly though, I want them to do FFXVI. There needs to be a truly great mainline Final Fantasy, and they're the team to do it.

    Metroid: Return of Samus
    Wolfenstein 2: the New Colossus
    Xenoblade Chronicles 2

I'm leaving off FFXII and Shadow of the Colossus only for having already played them.

Edit: I realize the irony in that statement and then having Return of Samus on there still, but oh well.Edited June 2017 by Unknown

One thing I can never understand is why Gambits get so much hate, and yet they work very similarly to a game like Dragon Age, and I've never seen anyone complain about setting up triggers in Dragon Age as the game playing itself. Either way, FFXII is an amazing game and it deserves so much more love than it gets.

"It's currently sitting at a collective 92%--a very high score for a movie, but a number that would be considered quite low for an entry in the Zelda series, but let's not get into that just yet."

Ok but yeah, let's get into that. I find it fascinating that while all other media reviews tend to use the whole scale, most (not all, notablly US Gamer, well done you) game reviewers only use 5-10 or the equivalent. It's so silly. Because games have both an artistic and mechanical portion, it's almost like scores less than 5 are saved for games that are unplayable. That by merely being something that can be experienced from beginning to end automatically gets a game a 5.

Oh well. I find it fascinating, but ultimately useless. If I'm on the fence about a game, I'll check reviews, mainly from people I trust. Otherwise, if I want to get Persona 5 for example, probably no amount of mediocre reviews would keep me away from it.
