I feel pretty much the same as you, Jeremy, and I know I will buy the Switch eventually, but I'll wait. It is too expensive, the launch line-up won't do much for me (I'm a Zelda fan, but I waited so long for BOTW that my hype died and I can actually wait another year) and who knows, by the time Xenoblade 2 actually launches (I don't believe 2017 for a second) maybe there's even a "new" hardware revision on the horizon.

I like open-world games, but not all of them. I loved searching every corner of Arkham City to collect all of the Riddler's trophies, and I'm still surprised at the random and wonderful situations Skyrim throws at me. On the other hand, Watch_Dogs bored me to tears, and even though I was interested at first, Black Flag quickly became boring too. Maybe I have an issue with Ubisoft.

Best open world game I've ever played: Xenoblade Chronicles X. The thing is so huge and complex that you keep discovering new places and mechanics even after you've played for hundreds of hours. I could play that thing forever. Seriously, I played it for 300+ hours and had to stop because I sold my Wii U, but man, every single day since I sold it I wish I could play XenoX again.Edited November 2016 by Unknown

I've played many violent games and killed hundreds of digital people over the years, but there's something that really bothers me in the trailer.

Just to be clear, I'm totally fine with a game set on WW1, but the slow-motion and epic sunset background while a soldier strikes another one in the head at 0m15s... man, we all like violence, that's fine, but WW1 was filled with horrible scenes like this between people that never really wanted to go to a war.

I'm sure this will be an awesome game and I'm OK with reenacting these scenes in games, but please, DICE, don't try to make it look epic and heroic. This could be a great, exciting and violent game and, at the same time, have a deep message about war. Don't turn this into a circus.

Hope you guys don't hate on me. This is just my opinion and I respect yours.Edited 2 times. Last edited May 2016 by Unknown

This makes Nintendo look really bad. I love it.

    Nice article, Jeremy, thanks!

"This sort of unapologetically niche creation has become a rarity at retail; it's more the type of game you'd expect to see show up on Steam after a small Kickstarter campaign. (And even those are becoming something of a rarity.)"

I would love to play Legend of Legacy, but I don't have a 3DS anymore. What are some good alternatives on Steam? (I mean, second-tier niche JRPGs with weird mechanics)Edited April 2016 by Unknown

@starrdumbb I've put 250+ hours into the game on Wii U and it's really, really fun. It was a total surprise to me, I almost passed on it, but in the end it became my favorite Wii U game.

If I still had my 3DS I would buy this version too, because the character switching feature looks very interesting. However, if I had to choose, I would go the Wii U route just like you. This is the kind of game that you'll want to play on the big screen, even though the 3DS version has more features. Also, the music is AWESOME!Edited March 2016 by Unknown
