Star Wars Battlefront 2 detailed their schedule of community events for Season 1 today, putting an emphasis on "player agency" in a way that reminds me a little of an extended Splatoon Splatfest.

The live events, which will tie in heavily with the forthcoming The Last Jedi, will let you choose to align with either the First Order or the Resistance (the ketchup or mayo of the Star Wars universe), granting you faction specific rewards.

Starting December 13, Finn will become available for the Resistance while Captain Phasma will be available for The First Order, both of whom will be available for in-game credits.

December 13 will likewise see the release of a new planetary map from The Last Jedi: Crait. Starfighter Assault will likewise add D'qar as well as a new hero ship in Tallie Lintra's RZ-2 A-wing, with Poe Dameron's X-wing being upgraded with the Inspire ability. All new weapons, fighters, and heroes are available free of charge.

Finally, a free single-player DLC chapter will be released highlighting Iden Versio's role in The First Order's rise to power.

Weekly Faction Challenges will be released throughout the rest of the month, with the faction that completes the most challenges receiving special crates containing upgrades for Finn or Captain Phasma and other rewards.

In case you were wondering, DICE multiplayer producer Paul Kelsin hasn't played Splatoon. Shame.

Battlefront 2's events kickoff December 5. The game itself will be out November 17.
