Madden 19 Best Team - Who is the Best Team in Madden 19?

There's only one team in Madden 19 that can stand head and shoulders above the rest.

The online portion of Madden 19 is always a battlefield each and every year, and you’ll need to know which team is the very best of the bunch going into the game, to give yourself the best chance of dominating the online competition. In this Madden 19 best team guide, we’ll be detailing the single best Madden 19 team in the entire game, pointing out the various strengths of the team so you can put every player on the field to good use.

But if you instead need help with any other areas of this iteration of Madden, you’ll want to head over to our Madden 19 guide. It’s in this page that you can find a full beginner’s guide to the game, including how to get to grips with the various changes to the passing and running mechanics that EA has made to the title for this year.

Madden 19 Best Team

One question hangs over every single release of Madden, every year: who is the best team in the game? Simply put, the best team going into every new Madden game is the previous Super Bowl winner, which means the best team as of right now in Madden 19 is the Philadelphia Eagles, with an overall team rating of 90.

Interestingly enough, only two of the Eagles' top five players are at all skill positions, these being strong safety Malcolm Jenkins with a rating of 94, and left defensive end Brandon Graham with a rating of 93. Otherwise, right tackle Brandon Brooks at 93, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox at 93, and center Jason Kelce at 92 are the other top five players on the Eagles.

The aforementioned Brooks and Kelce, along with Jason Peters and Lane Johnson means the Eagles have one of the best offensive lines in Madden 19, critical for protection Carson Wentz. Speaking of, the star QB has plenty of weapons around him, with the 91-rated Zach Ertz at tight end, the 90-rated Alshon Jeffrey as his main receiver, and the solid Nelson Agholor coming in at 84 overall to round out the trio.

With the Philadelphia Eagles, there really isn't anywhere you can go wrong. Obviously player ratings and team ratings can change with every passing week in the 2018/19 NFL season, but we shouldn't see too much change from the Eagles this year, unless they suffer the dreaded Super Bowl hangover year.

But are there any other teams in Madden 19 with standout talent across the board? The answer to that is yes, and you can find a complete list of some of the more elite teams in Madden 19, just below:

  • New England Patriots (86 OVR) - Brady and Gronkowski make for a nearly unstoppable duo on offense, and the defensive backfield has improved dramatically over the years, now featuring Devin McCourty, Stephon Gilmore, Jason McCourty, and Patrick Chung.
  • Minnesota Vikins (83 OVR) - The Vikings boast a lot of key playmakers on defense, including Harrison Smith, Everson Griffen, Zavier Rhodes, and Linval Joseph. On offense they've got the big free agent signing Kirk Cousins, throwing the ball to Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Kyle Rudolph, among others.
  • Atlanta Falcons (85 OVR) - The Falcons have an excellent trio on offense with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Devonta Freeman. On defense they've also got a bunch of key players, including Desmond Trufant, Deion Jones, Keanu Neal, Grady Jarrett, and Robert Alford.
  • LA Rams (84 OVR) - The Rams are one of the best (and youngest) teams in the NFL, boasting stars like Aaron Donald on defense, and Todd Gurley on offense. Elsewhere there's a great secondary led by Lamarcus Joyner and Aqib Talib, and there's some potential offensive stars in the mix, including Brandin Cooks, Jared Goff, and Robert Woods.

Now that we’re all done with this Madden 19 guide to the single best team in the game, you can head over to our best Madden 19 offensive playbook guide, or our best Madden 19 QBs guide, where we analyze the top players at the position.
