Devil May Cry 5 Secret Missions - Unlock Every Secret Mission Location in Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5's Secret Missions aren't easy to find. Here's our guide to the location of every Secret Mission in Capcom's sequel.

There's a surprising amount to do off the beaten path in Devil May Cry 5's missions, and one thing you can seek out and discover is Secret Mission scattered throughout the game. In our Devil May Cry 5 Secret Missions guide, we'll be walking you through the complete list of our Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission locations, so you can track them down and unlock them as quickly as possible.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Locations

But to unlock a Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5, you need to find a certain location while playing through the game. Look at the symbol in the screenshot below, that Nero can find in the second mission of Devil May Cry 5. It's these symbols that you need to track down while you're playing through the game, in order to actually unlock the corresponding Secret Mission.

In all, there are 12 total Secret Missions to unlock in Devil May Cry 5. Once you've spotted the symbol pictured above, you need to get in position to complete the pattern of the symbol. You'll know you're in the correct position when the symbol lights up and starts glowing, at which point you can start the Secret Mission right then and there by pressing A/X. Of course, you can always wait until you're back at the main menu of Devil May Cry 5 if you'd rather take on the mission later.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 1

As we mentioned above, the first instance of a Secret Mission location in Devil May Cry 5 comes in Nero's second mission of the game (the one that featured in the demo). It's literally impossible to miss this Secret Mission location in the upper floor of the fancy hotel, as it's the one that the game uses to demo the concept of finding and unlocking the missions themselves.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 2

In Mission 3: Flying Hunter, there'll be a section where Nero can go up a concrete stairwell, which has been partially collapsed. It's the stairwell that's right before the brief section in the library, where you fight the flying demons with huge scissors.

At the stairwell, drop down to the very bottom. Now look back up, towards the light, and you'll see the vague outline of the Secret Mission symbol on the stairs above you. Simply line this up, and you've unlocked another Secret Mission.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 3

The process to unlock this third secret mission in Devil May Cry 5 is incredibly long. During Mission 4: V, after you destroy a red blob on a bridge, the bridge will collapse. Right after this, you can obtain one Nidhogg Hatchling at the end of the bridge that V's on after the collapse.

A little bit after this, you're going to find yourself in the location pictured just below, where V and co. will be jumped by a bunch of demons. You need to summon in Nightmare at this stage by pressing the left bumper, and Nightmare will smash the giant hole in the building pictured below. Use the Griffon jump to get through the hole.

On the lower floor inside the building, head through the door on the right, and you'll eventually find yourself in an alley.

In this alleyway, you can pick up a second Nidhogg Hatching. You're going to need both Hatchlings to reach the Secret Mission.

Jump over the ruined wall behind where you picked up the second Hatchling, and another group of demons will ambush you. Summon in Nightmare again, and the monster will break down the wall to the right of where you jumped over the wall.

When the battle is over, head through the huge gate that Nightmare broke through, and turn left. Head all the way down this road, until you're faced with a point ahead of you that you can put a Hatchling into, to break down a root of the Demon Tree.

Straight after this, you can immediately use the second Nidhogg Hatchling on a root just to the left. Now head through the corridor (Griffon might be snarky about wasting time), and at the end of this corridor, jump up to the level above, through the broken floor.

Finally, Secret Mission number three is unlocked. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Now look out of the broken window in the small room, and you'll be instantly able to access the third Secret Mission of Devil May Cry 5. In this mission, V has to collect all the red orbs within the time limit.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 4

The fourth Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5 can be found in Mission 5: The Devil Sword Sparda. When V is in the shipping container area with Griffon and Shadow, you'll eventually come to the area pictured below, where you'll be ambushed by a number of demons.

This is the area where you're ambushed. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Defeat them all, then drop off the end of the area straight ahead of you. In this slightly lower area, turn right, and you'll see a red blob that needs destroying to your right. After you've done this, another group of demons will ambush V and co. During this fight, summon Nightmare to break through the construction area ahead of you.

When you're done with the fight, head through the gap that Nightmare created, towards daylight. Again, another group of demons will ambush V, so deal with them. After, you'll see a yellow stairway on your right, and if you head all the way to the top of these small stairs, and look to the wall ahead of you, you'll be able to access another Secret Mission.

For Secret Mission number four, V has to take out all the demon enemies, without taking a single hit. Make sure to use Shadow, Griffon, and Nightmare especially during this sequence, standing far back from the action until all the enemies are ready to be killed with V's cane.

As of right now, these are all the Secret Missions locations that we've managed to track down in Devil May Cry 5. As soon as we uncover any additional symbol locations within Capcom's sequel, we'll update this guide straight away.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 5

This fifth Secret Mission can be found very late in Mission 8: Demon King. There are two red waterfall things that you can ride up on platforms during this mission, and it's near the second one that you can find the entrance to the Secret Mission.

The second red waterfall. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Roughly halfway up the waterfall, to the right of your platform you should be able to see a very small ledge. Hop onto this ledge with Nero, and you'll find that there's a grappling hook moving vertically just ahead of you, in the middle of the open area.

Pick up the Gerbera GP-01 while you're here. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

You need to time your jump using the grappling hook perfectly, so that it takes you to the next successive grappling hook that occurs straight after. Use the two hooks in conjunction, and you'll reach a small platform, that looks out onto a new area below.

In this new area are two red orb trees that can be smashed to bag a small amount of the currency. But mainly, right in the middle of the area, is the light that signifies the entrance to the Secret Mission. Stand right on the light, and access to the mission is all yours.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 6

You can find the sixth Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5 during Mission 9: Genesis, where you're playing as V. Eventually, you'll come to the location in the picture below, with a ruined line of pillars to your right. You'll be ambushed by a fair few demons here, including one of these flying goats.

The pillars you'll need to reach. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

After you've dealt with the demons, head forward just a little bit, and you'll be able to turn left at the end of the pillars, behind a large rock. Here you can see some roots of the demon tree, so stand just in front of them, and then summon Nightmare, who will smash them apart at the source.

The tree roots that Nightmare will need to smash through. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

In this new area, you can firstly pick up a blue orb, which increases your health bar by one segment for every four orbs that you collect. Then, stand on the wall at the very back of the area, and look back towards the entrance, where the tree roots blocked your path. The symbol will now align perfectly, and you can access another Secret Mission.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 7

The seventh Secret Mission within Devil May Cry 5 can be found in Dante's Mission 10: Awaken, the first time you play as the legendary demon slayer. This Secret Mission is actually pretty difficult to access, because it's entirely reliant on speed.

You'll want to head through this door as quick as you can. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Eventually, you'll come to a combat with several hellbats, a few empusa, and one of those large enemies with pincers. Activate Devil Breaker and take them down as quickly as possible.

Head all the way up this path. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

You need to finish the fight as quickly as possible because on the right of the arena, there's a gate that will close if you take too long killing the enemy. If you do fail, we'd advise on reloading your last checkpoint. However once you have dispatched the enemy, go through the gate on the right as quickly as you can, head all the way to the top of the path, and you'll be able to access the Secret Mission here.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 8

This Secret Mission can be found shortly into Mission 11: Reason, the second of Dante's missions. After you've just come out of the first proper combat arena of the mission, head into the destroyed building, and you'll eventually come to a tiled floor area, with one section where you can drop down.

Drop down into this small square on the tiled floor, and you'll discover a demon tree root that you can destroy. After doing this, head back to the small upper area that's just behind the root.

Entrance point for the eighth Secret Mission. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 9

You can find this Secret Mission during Dante's Mission 12: Yamato. It's a fair way into the mission, and you'll need to have moved the statue in the middle of the small courtyard by destroying two demon tree roots, so that it moves and unlocks a small hole that you can jump down.

The statue will move to reveal a small hole in the ground. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Once you're down the hole, you'll proceed down a series of stone steps, before coming to a series of rocky ledges that you have to jump off. When you're roughly halfway up these, turn back around, and you'll see a ledge above you that you can jump up to. Once you're on this new platform, you can look out ahead of you, and reveal the Secret Mission.

Entry point to the ninth Secret Mission. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

On the upper floor of this small area, face in the direction that you originally came from, and a symbol for the Secret Mission will pop up on the wall.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 10

The tenth Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5 can be found in Mission 14: Diverging Point V. Firstly, you'll need to go about reclaiming ownership of Shadow, Griffon, and Nightmare, facing off against three pretty familiar bosses in the process.

Rescue your companions from three tough bosses. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

After this, you'll be tasked with destroying two roots of the demon tree. When you've destroyed the second, lower one, don't turn around and head back upwards, but instead go just past where the destroyed root was.

In the corner of this small area, the familiar light will be on the ground. Stand on the light, look back from where you came, and the Secret Mission entrance point will be on the wall just above you.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Location 11

For this Secret Mission, you're going to need to be playing Mission 12: Diverging Point Nero. You'll need to proceed a fair bit through this mission, passing spiky death traps as you, before you reach the statue that allows you to upgrade using the red orbs you've acquired. Check behind the statue to uncover a new path.

Check behind the statue for a hidden path. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Proceed down this pathway, and you'll be introduced to a new area. This new area is actually really tricky to navigate and get right, as you basically need to stay airborne through the whole section, to reach the Secret Mission access point at the very end.

Use Punch Line to guide yourself through the area. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Good thing there are plenty of Punch Line Devil Breakers scattered around. Equip Punch Line, and send it the rocket out with a simple press of B/Circle. You now need to hold down B/Circle to get the rocket to return to you, and have Nero mount the rocket itself. On the rocket, guide yourself over the entire area, touching down on the other end.

The starting point of the eleventh Secret Mission. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

You're now free to head to the small beam of light on the ground, to uncover the eleventh Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission 12

This final Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5 can be found in Mission 16: Diverging Point Dante. The entire mission is basically made up of giant arena fights, and it's the arena fight with the rolling enemies, and the one red enemy that keeps phasing in and out to attack you, that you need to be on the lookout for./p>

After this fight, head to the edge of the arena, look down, and drop to the large platform below you. Now look to your left, and jump down to the smaller platform.

Drop down to this smaller ledge. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Once you're on the smaller platform, turn around. You'll see a big red orb tree, so make your way over there using the Trickster Style to jump in midair.

You're aiming for the big red orb tree. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Go past the big red orb tree. Now look out into mid air, and you'll see a small platform below you, with a green and white orb.

When you're on the platform with the green and white orb look just to your right, and you'll see another ledge with a white and red orb. Jump on here.

The ledge with the red and white orb. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

Now make your way just inside the small cavern that's on the platform, and turn around. On the wall above you, from where you came, you'll see the entrance point to the Secret Mission.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Mission Rewards

For completing each Secret Mission in Devil May Cry 5, you'll obtain a different reward. There are two possible rewards you can get for completing a Secret Mission: a blue vitality orb, or a Devil Trigger orb. For every four of each orb that you obtain, the corresponding meter for Nero, Dante, and V will be increased by one increment.

One of the blue vitality orbs. | Hirun Cryer/USG, Capcom

So if you obtain four Devil Trigger orbs, the Devil Trigger meter for each character will be increased by one bar, and the same for the blue vitality orbs. There's a finite amount of both types of orbs in Devil May Cry 5, so if you're looking to maximise the fighting power of each character, completing Secret Missions is the way to go.

Devil May Cry 5 Secret Missions Explained

At the main menu of Devil May Cry 5, there's a menu option for the Secret Missions. These are very small combat encounters, that challenge Nero, Dante, and V in many different ways. For example, the first Secret Mission in the game tasks Nero in killing a set number of enemies in just 90 seconds.
