Pokemon GO Mewtwo
As many of you will already know, Mewtwo is a seriously useful pokemon in Pokemon GO. It boasts high attacking stats, and can be a great psychic pokemon to head into battle with. Up until recently, Mewtwo was confined to invite-only Pokemon GO Raids. Now though, anyone can take part.
Pokemon GO Mewtwo Raid End Date
Niantic announced that after being invite-only for over a year, Mewtwo is now in raid battles. Pokemon trainers will have the chance to participate in Pokemon GO Mewtwo Raid events until October 23. So make sure you act fast. This is all thanks to the global challenges completed so far this year, triggering a Pokemon GO Ultra Bonus Unlock.
Pokemon GO Mewtwo Weaknesses
When heading into battle against a strong foe in Pokemon GO, you'll need to know its weaknesses. Mewtwo is a psychic type pokemon, meaning that you'll want to use bug, dark and ghost pokemon. This will ensure you do maximum damage, and that the raid is over as quickly as possible.
Pokemon GO Mewtwo Counters
Since Mewtwo will be coming to Pokemon GO Raids soon, we figured we’d make sure you were going in prepared. In Pokemon GO, every Raid boss has a set of counters, pokemon that are particularly effective to use against them. They usually exploit the Raid boss’ type weakness, though there are some great all-rounders that can deal high damage whatever the foe. In the list below, we’ve gathered together a list of the Pokemon GO Mewtwo Counters. We’ll list the best counters first, then move onto some good all-rounders to keep in mind if you’ve caught them already.
- Tyranitar - Tyranitar is the best pokemon to use against Mewtwo thanks to its dark-type move Bite. Tyranitar is a pretty great all-round beast anyway, so when armed with Bite and Crunch it’s pretty much unstoppable.
- Houndoom - Another great way to exploit Mewtwo’s dark weakness is to use a Houndoom armed with Snarl and Foul Play
- Scizor - Mewtwo is also weak to bug attacks, so using a Scizor with Bug Bite and X-Scissor is a great way to inflict huge amounts of damage
- Mewtwo - If the Mewtwo your facing does not have Shadow Ball as a move, then you can do well with a Mewtwo with your own armed with the very same move. Shadow Ball is Ghost-type, so will make short work of your foe.
Pokemon GO Shiny Mewtwo
With every Mewtwo that you take down and catch, there’s a chance that you’ll get a Shiny Mewtwo. We’ve included an image of Pokemon GO Shiny Mewtwo below, green tail and all.
Pokemon GO Mewtwo Moveset - Best Moveset
There’s been a lot of debate around the best Pokemon GO Mewtwo Moveset to use in-game. Generally though, which moves you want to run with depends on what you plan on doing with mewtwo. If you find yourself going up against raid bosses like Blissey, Tyranitar and Snorlax, then go with Focus Blast. Psychic is great against fighting types, and Shadow Ball can equip you for future Mewtwo fights. It’s all up to you.
Pokemon GO Mewtwo Hyper Beam and Shadow Ball
Now that Mewtwo is coming out of EX Raids and being released into general circulation, Niantic is making sure that those who took part in EX Raids keep something special. From September 20 at 1 p.m. PDT, Hyber Beam and Shadow Ball will become exclusive moves for Mewtwo caught in EX Raids. You can teach Mewtwo these moves right up until the deadline by using a Charge TM.
