Fortnite Battle Royale is just about the most popular game in the world right now, and as with any modern popular game that’s played online by millions around the globe, it’s always going to encounter server issues and periods of downtime. In this Fortnite Server Status guide, we’ll be walking you through all the times that Epic has scheduled Fortnite maintenance for, as well as what you can do while you’re waiting in line to play Fortnite Battle Royale.

Fortnite Server Status
Popular online games are no strangers to downtime and maintenance periods. Popular online games released over the last year or so, like Destiny 2, Call of Duty: WW2, Monster Hunter World, and more have all had times at which they’re inaccessible for their audience, while the developer quickly conducts maintenance to fix bugs and improve the game for the crowd.
Is Fortnite Down?
April 24 Downtime for V3.6 - Fortnite is expected to be down on April 24 for the V3.6 update. The Fortnite downtime will begin at 4am ET (0800 GMT). It's not clear how long this downtime will last.
Fortnite Battle Royale is no exception to this method, and since it’s a game that always requires an online connection to the servers in order to be played, the Fortnite Server Status is crucial for millions around the globe. If you head over to the Fortnite Server page, you can check on whether the servers are up and running at any given time, whether it’s the dead of night, or first thing in the morning.
You can also use this page to check on whether there are issues with certain parts of Fortnite Battle Royale, including voice chat, matchmaking, leaderboards, messaging, and more. The crucial one you want to keep an eye on is ‘Game Status’, as this is the one that’ll determine whether you can actually log into the Fortnite Battle Royale servers and play the game.
There are certain parts of Fortnite that can be under maintenance from Epic, and you can still play the game. At the time of writing, for example, the ‘Stats and Leaderboards’ for the game are under maintenance from Epic, but you can still log in and play Fortnite Battle Royale just as you normally would, without any hindrance to your gameplay whatsoever.
If you try to log in while Fortnite Battle Royale is down to maintenance, you’ll be put into an extensive queue, which can sometimes run on for longer than five minutes. There’s unfortunately nothing to do while you’re waiting in this queue to access the game, and if the servers for Battle Royale are still down when your queue timer expires, you’ll be pushed back to the main menu, where you’ll have to wait.
Fortnite Tracker and Stats Tracking Status
However there’s one feature that Fortnite Battle Royale fans are keen for the return of, and that’s the in-game stats tracker. This feature was removed by Epic at the end of March 2018, due to the need to reduce load times in the game. At the time of writing in mid April 2018, Epic has promised that the feature will be returning “soon” for Fortnite players, but more importantly, your stats are still being recorded while the feature is absent, meaning you haven’t lost out on recording your stats.
One site that has become hugely popular is Fortnite Tracker, a site dedicated to tracking your Fortnite stats. You can get detailed stats on your Fortnite gameplay and see how you compare to friends.
