The Fortnite Birthday Celebration event might now be live for all players, but you've got little under 24 hours to complete them. In this Fortnite Birthday Celebrations guide, we'll be walking you through how to complete the three Fortnite Birthday Challenges, so you can earn the exclusive Back Bling and some bonus XP in the process.
If you instead need anything else on the latest event to hit Fortnite Battle Royale, you’ll want to head over to our Fortnite Season 5 guides hub. It’s here that you can find a complete list of the latest Fortnite skins to be included with the latest Battle Pass, as well as walkthrough guides on how to complete the latest Weekly Challenges.
What are the Fortnite Birthday Challenges?
Epic only revealed the Fortnite Birthday event just a matter of days before it finally went live in the game. All three challenges are available right now, assuming you've downloaded the latest v5.10 update for Fortnite.
Just below, you can read all the finer details that have arrived with patch V5.10 for Fortnite, that pertain to Fortnite Battle Roayale's 1st Birthday Celebration event.
- You can now find birthday cakes placed around the map with consumable slices next to them. Enjoy those tasty treats!
- Cake slices give +5 health and +5 shield instantly when consumed.
- Complete three birthday event challenges to unlock a new emote, spray, and Backbling.
- The Battlebus and Supply Drops have been decorated to celebrate #Fortnite1st.
Fortnite Birthday Challenges
While the Battle Bus was decked out in birthday gear back on July 24, there’ll also be a total of three Fortnite birthday challenges to complete while the event is active until August. You can see the full list of the challenges just below:
- Deal 1,000 damage to opponents (unlocks the Fortnite Birthday! Emote).
- Dance in front of different Birthday Cakes (unlocks the Happy Birthday! Spray).
- Play matches (5,000 XP).
- Complete all three to unlock the Birthday Back Bling.
Fortnite Birthday Challenges Rewards - Back Bling and XP
Playing fourteen matches over the course of two weeks shouldn’t be too challenging, and it’ll reward you with a nice payout of 5,000 XP for Fortnite Season 5. As for the other two challenges, you’ll need to deal 1,000 damage to opponents in any way (again, not too challenging over two weeks), and finally dance in front of Birthday Cakes.
If you manage to complete all three challenges before August 7, you’ll unlock the Birthday Back Bling. You can get a tease of this new Back Bling in the screenshot of the challenges from Epic just above, and it’ll certainly be a unique item to carry around with you.
