The latest Pokemon Go Community Day is happening very soon indeed, so you’ll want to start planning out your day. To help you do so, we’ve listed the Pokemon Go January 2019 Community Day Schedule below:
- Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 12, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. UTC
- The Americas and Greenland: January 12, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. PST
- Asia-Pacific: January 13, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. JST
The gen 2 starter pokemon Totodile is the headline pokemon for the January 2019 Community Day. This means that there will be more Totodile appearing in the wild on the day, which also means a higher chance to get a Shiny Totodile. All you need to do to get a Shiny Totodile on January 12 is keep catching them. You’ll eventually encounter one, given just how many will be around. Of course, Shiny Pokemon aren’t any stronger than their regular versions, but they look pretty great nonetheless. As is now tradition for Pokemon GO Community Day events, there will be an opportunity to earn an exclusive move on the day. This time around it is for Totodile, and will be applied to all Feraligatr that you evolve from Croconaw during the event. The exclusive move is water-type attack Hydro Cannon.
The main reason to get involved during Pokemon Go Community Day is the bonuses that are active. They change slightly from month to month, but generally they include extra catch XP and extended lure times. We’ve listed the bonuses for Pokemon Go January 2019 Community Day below:
- 3 hr Lure Modules
- Incubators work 4x faster
Given the associated bonuses that will be live during Pokemon Go Community Day, you'll want to ensure you're making the most of your time. Make sure you hang around PokeStops with lures active, and equip a Star Piece if you've got one. This will lead to huge Stardust increases, and Pinap Berries will make sure you get more Candy with each catch. You'll also want to have as many Totodile Candies as possible going into the event, so that you can evolve as many Totodiles as you can.
The Pokemon Go Community Day is the latest in a long line of event days. Each one has focused on a specific pokemon, increasing spawn rates on the day. We've listed all of the Pokemon featured in Community Day events previously.
