Hitman 2 Release Date, Sniper Assassin, Collector’s Edition, Co-Op - Everything We Know

Here’s all the details on IO Interactive’s next Hitman game

Hitman 2 is the follow up to 2016's Hitman game developed by IO Interactive. It was revealed by publisher Warner Bros, and contains a ton of new features and a brand new Sniper Assassin Mode. In this Hitman 2 guide, we've pulled together everything you need to know about the game including release date, details on co-op and more.

Despite the last entry adopting an episodic release plan, Hitman 2 will release as one complete package. It's being published by Warner Bros this time, after Square Enix released the franchise rights to IO Interactive.

Hitman 2 Release Date

During the official reveal, Warner Bros. announced that Hitman 2 will release on November 13 for PS4, PC and Xbox One. This will mark two years since the original game released fully, and is the first Hitman game to be developed by IO Interactive as an independent studio.

Hitman 2 Sniper Assassin Pre-Order Bonus

Hitman 2 features a whole new spin-off mode called Sniper Assassin. It tasks a group of players with eliminating three targets in 15 minutes. They only have a sniper rifle at their disposal, and must kill bodyguards and targets without harming civilians. It's available now as a bonus for pre-ordering the full game. Once you've reserved your copy, you'll receive a download code and can start playing immediately.

Hitman 2 Collector's Edition, Gold Edition, Pre-Order Bonuses

There are three different versions of Hitman 2 for you to choose from, these include the following:

Hitman 2 Locations

Hitman Season One featured a new setting with each level. This looks set to continue in Hitman 2, with six locations available in the base game. So far we've only seen one of them, a racetrack in Miami, with the rest expected to be revealed closer to launch. Additional locations will be added as DLC, with two expansions planned for release post launch, each of which will add a new location.

Hitman 2 Co-Op

Hitman 2 will feature coop for the first time in series history. It will be available via the Sniper Assassin mode, in which players can team up to take out targets using sniper rifles. Teamwork is key, as many actions have to be performed simultaneously to pay off. We've yet to hear any info on whether there will be any coop features in the main game stages, so stay tuned for further updates.

That's everything we know about Hitman 2 so far. We'll be adding to this guide as we get closer to release, and as we no doubt here further details from WB. In the meantime, you can read our thoughts on why Hitman 2 Going in a Non-Episodic Direction is a Huge Disappointment.
