Fortnite Season 9 is now finally here, and you can download the new update and jump in right now. This time, there's something of a futuristic theme for the seasonal event. When Does Fortnite Season 9 Release?

Fortnite Season 9 releases today on May 9. It's actually out right now, and to purchase the new Battle Pass and get playing with the redesigned map, all you need to do is download the new patch.

Fortnite Season 9 Patch Update

The new Fortnite Season 9 patch is now available to download on all platforms. The patch isn't huge, and weighs in at around 3.3GB. Firstly, the Season 9 patch introduces the new Slipstreams, a new method of transportation through tunnels of air around the map.

There's also the brand new Combat Shotgun in Fortnite Season 9. This gun holds 10 rounds, fires 9 pellets at once all dealing 70+ base damage. It should be a pretty deadly weapon in the hands of experienced Battle Royale players.
