Martin, the latter of which is helping develop the in-game world. In this guide compiling all the details we have on the game so far, we'll be going over a potential Elden Ring release date, all the information we could glean from the reveal trailer, and more.

Elden Ring Trailer
Just below, you can see the debut Elden Ring announcement trailer. This is the trailer that was used to announce the game for the first time, at the Xbox E3 2019 presentation.
The trailer certainly is story-led, as you'd expect from a game that employed George R.R Martin to help write it. It seems as though the game revolves around a journey to shatter the titular ring, but as Miyazaki later revealed in an interview with Xbox.com, the ring has actually been shattered at the beginning of the game.

Elden Ring Gameplay Details
After the dust had settled on the reveal trailer for Elden Ring, Xbox.com published an interview with FromSoftware's Hidetaka Miyazaki. Below, we've rounded up all the details that Miyazaki reveals about the game during the interview.
- Elden Ring is described as a third-person action RPG.
- While it won't shy away from the Souls-esque combat formula, it will be a more traditional RPG.
- Miyazaki says that Elden Ring will provide players with more combat options through melee and magical attacks.
- You'll be able to create your own character through customization tools.
- Elden Ring is an open world game, and also FromSoftware's single biggest game to date.
- Don't worry, Elden Ring will contain boss fights. "Horrifying" boss fights, according to Miyazaki.
Elden Ring Platforms
The Elden Ring trailer footage only displayed Xbox and PC as listed platforms at E3 2019. Currently, there's no information on whether Elden Ring is coming to PS4.
