MediEvil PS4 Release Date - Trailer, Gameplay, Remake Details - Everything we Know

Here's your guide to the MediEvil Remake for PS4, including the release date, all gameplay and trailers, and more.

We knew that the MediEvil PS4 remake was already in the works, but now we finally have a release date for the 4K remake. In this guide compiling all the information we have on the game so far, we'll be going over the MediEvil PS4 release date for October this year, all the trailers we've seen so far, and more.

MediEvil PS4 Release Date

The MediEvil PS4 release date is October 25, 2019. The announcement of the release date came in the trailer just below, which was first shown off at the State of Play presentation from Sony, in early May.

A digital deluxe edition of MediEvil PS4 was also revealed. In this bonus edition, which doesn't have a price as of right now, you get the base game, an art book, the original soundtrack, a dynamic theme for your PS4, a digital comic book, and an in-game armor set.

Is MediEvil on PS4 a Remaster?

It's a little tricky to answer this question. Back in 2017, the reveal trailer for MediEvil on the PS4 had the tagline "fully remastered" in one shot. In the rest of the debut trailer, it was revealed that the game would run at 4K on the PS4 Pro, further pointing towards a remaster.

But more recently in 2018, Sony's Shawn Layden said that the game was a full remake. I think there have been some words that might sound alike but mean different things – like remake and remaster," Layden said. "[MediEvil] is a remake." The main developers behind the remake is Other Ocean Interactive, who previously worked on the Rick and Morty VR game, but Other Ocean is working with Sony on the remake.

MediEvil PS4 Developers

On top of this, Other Ocean will be developing the MediEvil PS4 game using the Unreal Engine 4. As of last year, it was reported that Other Ocean was working closely with some of the original talent on the game when it first released back in 1998. What talent this is however, remains something of a mystery.

As of right now, these are all the scant details we have on the MediEvil PS4 remake. As soon as any additional details are revealed by Sony, we'll make sure to update this guide straight away.
