Sony recently held its second State of Play event, revealing new titles while showcasing new info on ones we already new about. One of the biggest surprises of the night was Predator: Hunting Grounds, a brand new asymmetric multiplayer game from the creators of Friday the 13th: The Game. We don’t know a huge amount yet, but we do have a broad release window, a trailer, and some gameplay details. You’ll find all of the details you need to know about Predator Hunting Grounds in this guide. We’ll be sure to update this page once any new details are released.
Predator Hunting Grounds Release Date
While we don’t have a specific release date for Predator Hunting Grounds, we do have a rough idea as to when we’ll get to play it. The trailer, which you can watch below, indicates that the Predator Hunting Grounds will release in 2020.
Predator Hunting Grounds Trailer
So far, we’ve only seen a short piece of Predator Hunting Grounds. An announcement trailer was released during the May 9 State of Play event, and it only showed off some cutscene action and concept art. You can watch the trailer above to see what the game is about.
Is Predator Hunting Grounds a PS4 Exclusive?
Given that Predator Hunting Grounds was announced at PlayStation State of Play, many have been wondering whether it will be making its way to other consoles. Unfortunately, it seems that all signs point to it being PS4-only, as it is being created in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Fox. In the past, this has been a solid indicator that a game is PS4 exclusive, and the marketing thus far has been PlayStation-only. We’ll be sure to update this page if anything changes.
Predator Hunting Grounds: Can You Play as The Predator?
We didn’t get much in the way of info as part of the Predator Hunting Grounds reveal trailer. Luckily, there was a blog post (https://blog.us.playstation.com/2019/05/09/predator-hunting-grounds-revealed-during-state-of-play/) released shortly after on the PSBlog giving some more gameplay details. In the post, it is revealed that ‘One group of players will control members of an elite Fireteam who pack state-of-the-art conventional firepower, from shotguns and SMGs to sniper rifles and more. Meanwhile, one player will control the Predator: a stealthy, acrobatic killing machine bristling with exotic alien technology such as the infamous Plasmacaster.’ This is very much in line with other games that developer Illfonic has worked on, namely Friday the 13th.
We’ll be adding more info as it is revealed. For now, stay tuned for future updates.
