Vermintide 2 Heroic Power Guide
There are a total of five different character classes in Vermintide 2, each of which has their own unique abilities and equipment. These are the Mercenary, Ranger Veteran, Waystalker, Witch Hunter Captain, and the Battle Wizard, each of which has their own individual Heroic Power level.
If you head over to the mission board in the Keep hub, you’ll see that you can launch a quick play match, which will pair you up with three other people (or bots) from around the world to play a mission of Vermintide 2 with. If you choose the ‘select difficulty’ option, you’ll see that there are three difficulty level to choose from, starting at Recruit at the lowest, and going up to Veteran and Champion levels.
The Veteran and Champion difficulty levels are far harder than the basic Recruit difficulty level, but because of the increased difficult you’ll also gain more XP on completing them. However, you’ll find that the Veteran and Champion difficulty levels in quick play are actually locked behind Heroic Power level requirements, these being 120 for Veteran, and 220 for Champion.
How to Increase Heroic Power in Vermintide 2
So, how do you go about increasing this Heroic Power level for each of your five characters? Your Heroic Power level for each character is tied to the gear that they currently have equipped, as your weapons, armor, and equipment items like rings all have Power attributes, and all these individual items Power levels combine to give your character one overall Heroic Power level.
If you want to get your hands on some better equipment for all five character classes in Vermintide 2, then we’d recommend simply heading into an online quick play match with each of the five characters. Not only do you earn gear items for a character every single time you play with them, but diving straight into an online game on Recruit difficulty is a great way to get to grips with characters and their abilities.
To actually equip the new gear you’ve collected for a character, you’ll want to head to the Forge in the Keep, and interact with it. Select the ‘equipment’ tab, and you’ll bring up all the items in all five equippable categories, which include melee weapons, ranged weapons, necklaces, charms, and trinkets.
Hover your cursor over an item, and it’ll automatically compare their Power levels. You’ll obviously want to equip the gear with the best Power level for all five characters, and you don’t need to worry about sharing one gear pool among all five characters, as they all have their own segregated gear. You’ll need to keep repeating this process of collecting gear for all five characters in Vermintide 2, if you want to level them up enough to be able to partake in tougher activities.
