Red Dead Redemption 2 Camps
Camps are going to be a huge part of Red Dead Redemption 2. They’ll be the main hub of activity, where your gang will work, live and hang out. From what we’ve seen so far, there’s quite a lot you can do at these camps. We’ve collected all of the info below.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Camps Missions
It seems that you’ll be able to pick up missions at base camp in Red Dead Redemption 2. There will be particular members of your gang, or simply camp residents that will give you quests. The one we see in the trailer is a fellow gang member asking Arthur to accompany him on a raiding party. There will likely be several missions like this to take on, depending on your relationship with the members of your camp community.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Campfire Stories
It’s not all dangerous missions and calculated killing that happens in Red Dead Redemption 2, as the camp offers a chance to grab some much needed downtime. One of these daily distractions is that of campfire stories. Arthur can sit around the campfire and listen to stories being told by members of the camp. We see this firsthand in the trailer, in a quietly touching moment which shows a very different side of the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Morale
One recently revealed nugget of info regarding camps is that there will be a collective morale meter to manage. It looks like members of the camp will react differently to Arthur depending on the morale as a whole. Completing missions, bringing in food and resources are the way to improve morale, though we will have to wait to see just how deep the mechanic goes.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Minigames
We see Arthur playing a game of Poker at the camp shown in the new trailer. It looks like you'll be able to take on a handul of similar tasks at the camp, though we don't have confirmation on what they will be.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Secrets
One thing that is intrinsically linked to morale and relationships present in the camp is secrets. Maintaining relationships and spending time with certain characters will lead them to point out secrets on your map. It’s well worth taking the time to check in with your fellow camp-mates then.
That’s everything we know about camps in Red Dead Redemption 2. We’ll no doubt be hearing more info as we edge ever closer to launch day, so we’ll be sure to update this guide accordingly.
