Hunting is back for Red Dead Redemption 2, in a big way.

Guide by Jake Green, .

Red Dead Redemption 2 will feature hunting. This is obviously no surprise for anyone who played the first game, as hunting was a huge part of it. And while we’ve not seen too much of the hunting in Red Dead Redemption 2, there is some new info given in the most recent gameplay trailer. In this Red Dead Redemption Hunting Guide, we’ll go over everything we know so far. We’ll list all of the animals confirmed in the trailers, and go into some of the mechanics of how hunting works in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Hunting

In Red Dead Redemption 2, Hunting serves a couple of main functions. Firstly, you can hunt animals and sell their pelts. This will earn you cash that you can spend in general stores. The second thing you can do with hunting is to supply your camp. This is presumably tied to the new morale system, wherein the members of your camp will have an associated and collective morale level. It’s up to you what you want to do with the animals you kill, and we’re betting there are going to be hunting missions just like in the first Red Dead Redemption game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Animals List

It looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will boast even more wildlife than its predecessor. We don’t know exactly what animals are set to feature in the game, but have glimpsed some new additions in recent trailers. We’ve listed all of the Red Dead Redemption 2 Animals below:

  • Horses
  • Squirrels
  • Wolves
  • Vultures
  • Bison
  • Cows
  • Pigs
  • Sheep
  • Goats
  • Lizards
  • Chickens
  • Moose
  • Deer
  • Bears
  • Crocodiles
  • Eagles
  • Crows

Red Dead Redemption 2 Tracking

Given that Red Dead Redemption 2 is an open world game releasing in 2018, it obviously has some sort of detective mode. This hunter’s sense mode can be used to track animals. When wounded, animals will leave a white trail behind them that can be highlighted using the sense mode. We’ll have to wait and see whether there’s more to this feature.

Unless part of the game takes place in Florida or outside of the US, wouldn't the crocodile you have listed actually be an alligator?
