When Does the Overwatch Anniversary Event End?
As we mentioned at the top, the Overwatch Anniversary event for 2018 has now ended. The end of the limited time event coincided with the double XP weekend.
This is actually the second overall Overwatch Anniversary event, a repeat of the event that marked the first birthday of the online hero shooter back in 2017. The Overwatch Anniversary 2018 event kicked off back in late May, right around 8 am PSt/11 am EST/4 pm BST.
Overwatch Anniversary Event Legendary Skins
The Overwatch Second Anniversary event has now finished, and a bunch of old content that was previously inaccessible, tied to old events like Halloween Terror or the Winter Wonderland events, returned for a limited time. So if you missed Junkrat's Halloween Terror skin, or Mei's Lunar New Year skin, you had another chance to unlock them before June 11.
But there's also a load of brand new character items like Legendary skins and emotes that returned as part of the Overwatch Second Anniversary event. Blizzard announced there would be a total of eight new Legendary skins, three new Epic skins, and a host of new other cosmetic items like Emotes for characters like Doomfist, Moira, and Brigitte. All added up, there were well over fifty new items for you to unlock.
