Rage 2 BFG Location - Where to Find the BFG in Rage 2
This is your guide to the Rage 2 BFG location, which can only be unlocked with Deluxe and Collector's editions of the game.
The BFG has made its way to Rage 2, but only if you purchased either of two versions of the game. The BFG 9000 is probably the most powerful weapon in all of Rage 2, but you'll have to find it first. In this Rage 2 BFG location guide, we'll be walking you through how to find the Rage 2 BFG as easily as possible, which involves activating your Bethesda.net account.
Rage 2 BFG Location
Here's a step by step guide covering how to get the BFG in Rage 2 (officially called the BFG 9000). If you played Doom (2016), you will have seen a version of the BFG that fires out a massive laser beam across the vicinity, incinerating all foes caught in its path. The Rage 2 BFG functions in basically the same way, firing out a massive green ball of energy that incinerates all nearby enemies. In the steps below, we'll be walking you through to the final BFG location in Rage 2.
- Firstly, create an account on Bethesda.net if you haven't got one already.
- On the main menu of Rage 2, head into 'Settings.'
- Hit 'Bethesda.net,' and you can sign into your account to link it to Rage 2.
- Within the actual game, head to just north of Vineland, where you began the game.
- You'll see a meteor strike the ground at roughly the map point depicted below.
- Approach the point of impact, and the BFG 9000 will be there for you to claim.

Which Rage 2 Editions Have the BFG?
Before launch, Bethesda revealed that the BFG from Doom would be coming to Rage 2. There was then some confusion over which editions of Rage 2 would feature the BFG for you to unlock. A Bethesda rep then took to Reddit to clear up the confusion. Only the Deluxe and Collector's editions of Rage 2 will feature the BFG.
This means that if you purchased the standard, $60 edition of Rage 2, you're unfortunately out of luck. If you want to get the BFG, you either need to purchase the Rage 2 Deluxe Edition for $80, or the Rage 2 Collector's Edition for $120. That's not all that both expensive editions of the game come with, so it's not a case of shelling out an extra $20 for a single in-game weapon.

However, the Bethesda rep on Reddit used the phrase "at launch," for the BFG in Rage 2. This suggests that the weapon might be available further down the road as paid DLC, separate from a purchase of the upgraded version of the game. We'll have to wait and see to find out for sure, though.
