Resident Evil 2 Shotgun - How to Get the Shotgun Locker Keycard in Resident Evil 2
This is our complete guide on how to obtain the shotgun in Resident Evil 2, while you're playing as Leon.
If you're playing as Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 2, then you can obtain the powerful shotgun in the early goings of the game. In our Resident Evil 2 shotgun guide, we'll be detailing how you can acquire the shotgun as early on as possible in the police station section of the game.
How to Get a Shotgun in Resident Evil 2
You’re going to start out with nothing but a pistol in Resident Evil 2, for both Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. But when it’s Leon’s debut solo section in the game, which takes place in the Raccoon City police station, you’re obviously going to want to get your hands on a more powerful weapon to deal with the zombie hordes, and this is where the shotgun comes in handy.

In Resident Evil 2, you can bring up the map of your current local area by pressing either the touchpad on the DualShock 4, or the view button on the Xbox One controller. You’ll want to keep doing this periodically because it’s the ‘Art Room’ that you need to reach, which is on the second floor, just off to the right side of the main hall.

Weapons Locker Keycard Location
Check out our map screen just above, and you can see the rough location of the Art Room in Resident Evil 2. As soon as you enter this room from the corridor outside, the Weapons Locker Keycard will be directly ahead of you, just on the table.

So next up, you need to make your way out of the Art Room, back through the main hall, onto the first floor, and out of the left side of the hall. You need to make your way into the Safety Deposit Room, which is past the area where you first obtained the radio to Branagh earlier in the level.

How to Unlock the Shotgun Locker in Resident Evil 2
If you’ve already reached the weapons locker within the Safety Deposit Room, without having grabbed the weapons Locker Keycard, you’ll need to make your way straight to the Art Room.
Once you’re in Safety Deposit Room, you need to make your way to the very back of the line of lockers. At the very back of the room, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the large locker on the wall containing the shotgun, and unlock it using the Weapons Locker Keycard item.

Congratulations, you’ve got your hands on the powerful shotgun for Leon in Resident Evil 2. While you’re there, don’t forget to grab the shotgun ammo that’s in the same locker as the shotgun itself, and load up immediately.
