Pikachu Guide - Pikachu Changes, Moves, Outfits, Final Smash

Everyone’s favorite pokemon mascot returns in Super Smash Bros Ultimate, boasting a new alternate costume, character animations and white flashing cheeks. There have been several changes to Pikachu since the last game, so let’s take a look at what’s new, and what has stayed the same.

Female Pikachu in Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Pikachu Alternate Costumes, Libre Outfit, Moon Hat

Pikachu comes loaded with some awesome alternate outfits in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The most notable is a Female Pikachu variant. Female Pikachu has a heart shaped tail, but is otherwise exactly the same as the male kind. There’s also a variant of Pikachu wearing Moon’s hat from Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as a Libre costume from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Pikachu Changes in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Pikachu has seen a few changes since his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Wii U. We’ve listed all of the ones we’ve noticed so far in the following list:

  • Pikachu’s cheeks now flash white during electric attacks
  • Shorter taunt durations for side taunt and down taunt
  • New aerial attack where Pikachu unleashes an electrical AoE attack
  • Thunder attack is now stronger

Pikachu Final Smash in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Pikachu’s Final Smash in Smash Bros Ultimate is almost completely unchanged from his last outing. There are some slight differences in the start-up animation.

    Forward air now has more range - it has more range than Marth's fair, if I saw it correctly.
    Sheik's tilt combos that require perfect pivoting are gone, along with Sheik's throw combos, however, that might be changed depending on whether or not they change how knockback and hitstun works
    Sheik's new pummel is slightly faster, meaning that her grab gains a buff
    Bouncing Fish is slower and stronger
