Mass Effect Andromeda Walkthrough - How to Complete Prologue: Hyperion, Meet Your Father

A complete guide to your space adventure, including full mission walkthroughs and loads of advice to help make your journey easier.

As Mass Effect Andromeda's opening mission there's nothing challenging here, but there is an optional objective you could miss out on. This guide will make sure you don't miss it and walk you through just in case you get stuck.

If you want help on tricker areas of the game, head over to our ever growing Mass Effect Andromeda Guide and Mission Walkthrough. It's also got some neat info on character creation and romances.

The overall goal here is to meet Meet your father, the Pathfinder, on the Hyperion's bridge. Before you get to that you'll be walked through a few of the game's systems and mechanics (gameplay mechanics, although there are also crew member mechanics!).

After you wake from stasis you'll be a bit groggy but fine. Talk to the people around you and then go and check on your sister (this is optional). She's not in a good way, but the hope is that she'll pull through. This story will be ongoing, so there's not much you can do about it now.

Watch out for Bokoblin on your way here

Carry on through and you'll see some kind of malfunction with a power relay. Investigate this to instigate an objective that teaches how to use the scanner. Press down on the d-pad to activate the scanner and view the power conduit. You'll find the fault and then be given the option to reset the power relay. Job's done!

Meet Ryder's Father

Now head to the tram with Cora and take it to the Hyperion bridge to meet your father, the Pathfinder. Once there you'll be told all about Habitat 7 and be made part of a scouting mission to report on the viability of the planet for colonization.

You'll need to prepare for the mission, so next up you'll need to find your helmet and sidearm, both in the locker room. Have a look around and talk to others in the area, then head to the shuttle to complete the Prologue.

We've got plenty more Mass Effect Andromeda advice for you, including solving Remnant Puzzles, understanding viability, and a walkthrough for how to complete the Planetside mission.

That's the game's opening sorted. Your first proper mission and taste of combat lies ahead. Good luck!
