Mass Effect Andromeda Walkthrough - How to Complete the A Trial of Hope Mission, Aya and the Angarans

A complete guide to your space adventure, including full mission walkthroughs and loads of advice to help make your journey easier.

Your first trip to the Onaon System lets you follow the lead found in the Remnant vault on Eos. This mission will see you take on some challenging foes and also do a lot of talking. We'll walk you through in this Mass Effect Andromeda guide.

For a whole host of other intersting content, head over to our Mass Effect Andromeda Guide and Mission Walkthroughs. It's you're one stop solution to any problems you might be having making progress.

With Ryder now established as hot stuff following a successful mission and colonization of Eos, it's time to carry on the good work. Ryder and team discovered a lead in the vault on Eos that suggests there is another active vault in the Onaon System.

Head back to the docking bay and return to the Tempest. Open up the Galaxy Map from the bridge and zoom out until you can see the mission marker. Now target the Onaon System. If you've targeted the right system and planet you'll get a dramatic cutscene featuring the the Kett Archon. He's the main bad guy, and has the right look for it. Very moody. You'll be seeing more of him in the future.

Team Angarans Assemble!

Eventually you'll outrun the Kett and find yourself being escorted down to the planet Aya's surface. Ryder will greet the alien race alone and then be asked to follow Paaran Shie through the city to the Angaran Resistance headquarters. Don't try to get out your scanner or veer off the path as soldiers will have laser targets on you in moments.

Once you're at the headquarters, head inside to speak to Evfra. You'll be met by Jaal first, who tries to get a read on you and your intentions, but soon Evfra confirms that there is indeed a vault on Aya. Unluckily for you its entrance has been lost, with the only person who knows how to find it, Moshae, currently kidnapped by the Kett.

A few more conversation choices later and Jaal is on your team. There are a couple of NPCs to talk to once you're back outside, but the main goal is to head back to the Tempest. Use the Docking Access Control terminal to return to the Tempest and continue your mission.

Once you're back in control following some team chatter go back to the Galaxy Map. To continue The Trial of Hope Mission you need to gain the trust of the angara. Two missions are now unlocked: Helping Havarl's Scientists and Meet the Resistance. Start tracking Helping Havarl's Scientists and head to Faroang. Once you're in that system travel to Havarl.

We've also got lots of more general tips for you, including solving Remnant Puzzles in Mass Effect Andromeda and a guide to understanding viability. Next up in the main story is the Havarl Scientists mission, where you'll figure out why a bunch of them are staying very still.

There's some challenging stuff up ahead so make the most of the relative peace on Aya.
