God of War Dragon Locations Guide - How to Find Fafnir, Otr, and Reginn

This God of War walkthrough and guide includes collectible locations, weapons, armor, secrets, Valkyries and more.

Guide by Hirun Cryer, Tom Orry, .

Dragons in God of War can be found scattered throughout the realm of Midgard, so thankfully Kratos and Atrues won’t have to venture into another dimension to free all the fabled beasts. In this God of War Dragon locations guide, we’ll be walking you through how to find Fafnir, Otr, and Reginn, as well as pointing out how you can successfully set free all three Dragons in the game.

If you instead need anything else to do with God of War, including how to get to grips with the combat system featuring the Leviathan Axe, or how to battle your way through every challenging boss in the main story, make sure to head over to our God of War guides walkthrough hub.

God of War Dragon Locations Guide

As we mentioned previously, there are a total of three Dragons found in God of War, and luckily for any completionists out there, all three can be found in Midgard. The Dragons are known as Fafnir, Otr, and Reginn, and although Kratos and Atreus will be tasked with setting each Dragon free, finding the three Dragons can be equally as challenging.

Throughout our God of War Dragons guide just below, we’ll be revealing how you can easily find your way to all three Dragons found in Midgard. It’s lot more difficult than it sounds, and at the end of each section, we’ll be linking off to our guides detailing how you can actually unshackle each Dragon once you’ve tracked them down.

God of War Shores of Nine Dragon - The Flight of Fafnir

For the first Dragon in God of War, you’ll want to head to the Alfheim tower on the Lake of Nine. When you’re in the boat and approaching the tower on the water, you’ll want to find the shore just to the left of the tower itself, where you can dock the boat.

Now have Atreus destroy the rubble ahead of you with his shock arrows, and scale the cliff, going up the path on the left once you reach the top. At the top of this path, you’ll find two hefty wooden doors that Kratos force open, bringing you to a direct confrontation with Fafir himself, who happens to be an old friend of Mimir.

For a detailed walkthrough on how to set Fafnir free from the shackles that Odin placed on him, head over to our God of War Flight of Fafnir guide.

God of War Veithurgard Dragon - Otr’s Imprisonment

Otr is the second Dragon in God of War, and he’s arguably one of the more hidden away features of the game. To reach Otr, you need to unlock Veithurgard, and to do this, you’ll need to sail just to the right of the Alfheim tower on the Lake of Nine, to where Atreus and Kratos can dock their boat.

From here, you need to work your way up the cliff, destroying all the orbs of sap with Atreus’ shock arrows as you go, until you reach the top of the cliff, looking out onto the huge doors that lock off Veithurgard from the Lake of Nine.

There’s a large wheel in the ground here that you can turn, which will pull back the chain spread out over the water, and subsequently unlocking the double doors. Now all you have to do is return to the boat, sail through the now open doors, and dock at the shore to your right.

Now comes the fight to free Otr from his bonds, and for a full walkthrough of exactly how to do this, you can head over to our God of War Otr’s Imprisonment guide.

God of War Konunsgard Dragon - The Fire of Reginn

The Konunsgard region in God of War is sadly locked behind several quests from the smithing brothers: Brok and Sindri. In order to unlock the Konunsgard region, you’ll need to undertake and complete two Favor side quests for Brok, and two for Sindri, before you can accept the Hail to the King Favor quest.

Upon accepting the Hail to the King quest from the brothers in Brok’s Shop, you’ll be granted access to the Konunsgard region off the west of the Lake of Nine. Once you’ve sailed down the small passageway, you’ll arrive in Konunsgard, where you can begin your quest to set the Dragon Reginn free.

For a full walkthrough of how to make it safely through Konunsgard, as well as setting the Dragon free, head over to our God of War Fire of Reginn guide for all that and more.

We might have concluded how to find and unlock every Dragon in God of War, but continue ahead to some of our additional in depth guides on the game, including our God of War Valkyrie locations guide, or our God of War Muspelheim Cipher Pieces guide.

When fighting Matturg Helson aka Bridge Keeper
The last part where is says
(The final thing you need to be wary of when taking on the Bridge Keeper is the minions that he can summon onto the battlefield, all of which you’ve previously fought on your journey through Helheim so far. We’d recommend taking these minions out as soon as possible, as they can be a nuisance if you instead turn your back on them and focus purely on the Bridge Keeper instead.)

Does not work on (Give Me God Of War) he well continue to summon as soon as you kill the minions maybe on a lower difficulty you can kill the them fast enough but not on Give me god of war. When he summon them ignore them and run to him and light attack him to get him to start teleporting his attack well hit the minions and kill them in one or two hits and when his last attack aim and press R2 to do heavy attack two or three time then doge back but keep a eye on themEdited April 2018 by Daraix

Surprise, surprise, the valkyries are mostly in Chambers of Odin! Maybe you could actually SHOW us where they are instead of saying vague areas as though that'll help any?
