There's a brand new event coming to Pokemon GO, which will actually take place every month after its debut. In this Pokemon GO Community Day guide, we'll be going over what date and times the event starts and ends on, as well as all the various bonuses you can expect to gain while the limited event is on.
If you need help with anything else related to Pokemon GO, including how to capture some region-exclusive Pokemon in the game, as well as the all new weather system implemented by Niantic, head over to our Pokemon GO guides walkthrough hub.
Pokemon GO Community Day Start and End Date
The Pokemon GO Community Day event isn't actually a one off, unlike all the other events we've previously had for the game. This time, the worldwide Community Day is scheduled for January 20, but it'll be returning around the same date the following month, and every month after that, meaning you'll have the opportunity to take part if you happen to miss out on a Community Day.
As for the global start times for the Pokemon GO Community Day event taking place on January 20, they're all listed just below:
- 11 am PST
- 11 am EST
- 10 am BST
- 10 am CEST
Those times might look odd, and that's because the Community Day event takes place at different times around the globe, not at one worldwide time. As such, the event will conclude a few hours later for each region, at the respective times just below:
- 2 pm PST
- 2 pm EST
- 1 pm BST
- 2 pm CEST
This means that wherever you are around the globe, you've got just three hours to take part in the monthly Pokemon GO Community Day. As we mentioned before, don't worry if you miss out, because unlike other Pokemon GO events, this one will be back in just a months time.
Pokemon GO Community Day Bonuses
So, what are the bonuses you'll be able to gain during the very limited event? Firstly, you'll earn double XP on all actions, no matter what they are, so it's a great chance for Pokemon GO newcomers to boost their level relatively quickly.
Secondly, Lure Modules will last for an extended time of three hours total, meaning that if you place them at the beginning of the Community Day event, they'll actually last throughout the entire event wherever you are. Finally, and most importantly, you'll be able to catch an exclusive Pokemon that hasn't been available previously. For the January version of the Community Day event, you'll be able to catch a Pikachu that knows the move Surf, not unlike the one in Pokemon Yellow.
That's all you need to know about the upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day event, but make sure to keep checking back on this guide, as we'll be updating it in the future with all the relevant information you need to stay up to date.
