But if you instead need any additional details on the new remake from Capcom, you’ll want to head on over to our Resident Evil 2 walkthrough. Here you can find a complete beginner’s guide to the remake, as well as a story primer for all the newcomers to the game.

Resident Evil 2 RCPD Portable Safe Combination

Firstly, you can locate this portable safe in the Raccoon City police department of Resident Evil 2, while you’re playing as Leon Kennedy. You can see the exact location of the portable safe on the map screen just below, which is located on the second floor of the building.

Nearby to where you find the portable safe, you’ll find a note relating to the item. This note instructs you to push the buttons in the correct order, to open the safe and claim the item inside. Normally this would be a long trial and error process, but in the images just below, we’ve highlighted the full order of buttons that you need to press.

The first button you should press | Hirun Cryer
The second button | Hirun Cryer
The third button | Hirun Cryer
The fourth button | Hirun Cryer
The fifth button | Hirun Cryer
The sixth button | Hirun Cryer
The seventh button | Hirun Cryer
The eight and final button | Hirun Cryer

What's in the Portable Safe?

Once you’ve pressed the buttons in this corresponding order, the portable safe will open up for Leon to claim. The item that you’ll receive is called a ‘spare part’, and although it's a pretty enigmatic item at first, you can put it to good use by heading down to the safety deposit room on the first floor.

Interact with the main terminal control panel in the safety deposit room, and you'll have the opportunity to put the spare part onto the machine. This makes up for the missing key panels on the machine, which you can then use to open up multiple lockers within the room.

Now that we’re all done here, you can continue ahead to our additional coverage of Resident Evil 2, here at USgamer. Head over to our Resident Evil 2 essential tips page, where we run through all the key information that all survivors of the apocalypse need to know.
