God of War contains a surprising Avengers: Infinity War Easter Egg, coming in the form of an Infinity Gauntlet of sorts, if you’re willing to suspend your disbelief. In this God of War Infinity Gauntlet guide, we’ll be walking you through how to obtain the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages, which doubles up as the Infinity Gauntlet, which you can then upgrade using certain items which double up as Infinity Stones.

If you instead need anything else on the surprisingly huge game of God of War, including how to get to grips with the brand new combat system of the game featuring the Leviathan Axe, as well as a full story primer for all the events you might have missed previously in the storied franchise, make sure to head over to our full God of War guides walkthrough hub.

God of War Infinity Gauntlet Guide

As we mentioned just above, the Infinity Gauntlet itself isn’t actually in God of War, but the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages is. This item doubles up as a clever little Easter Egg for Avengers: Infinity War, which sort of pokes fun at the fact that the Thor referred to in God of War and Marvel’s Thor are very, very different characters.

To start off, you’ll need to complete The Sickness main story quest of God of War, and you’ll then need to undertake the Fafnir’s Storeroom Favor side quest for Sindri. Once both these requirements have been fulfilled, you can accept the Family Business Favor from Sindri, and it’s during this Favor that you’ll obtain the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages inside Northri Stronghold.

God of War Shattered Gauntlet of Ages Guide

The Shattered Gauntlet of Ages comes in the form of a Talisman that Kratos can equip, and although it has a neat shockwave ability for pushing back encroaching enemies, it’s otherwise fairly useless and underpowered.

However you can actually power up the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages so it can become the Infinity Gauntlet of sorts, if you’re willing to dedicate both time and money to recovering all the various enchantments for the gauntlet, which double up as the Infinity Stones. Thanos uses these Infinity Stones to reach the maximum potential of the Infinity Gauntlet, and you can use them to power up the weapon for Kratos.

Firstly, you’ll have to undertake two upgrades for the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages:

  • Upgrade one - This initial upgrade for the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages costs 55,000 Hacksilver, 18 Dust of Realms, and 2 Dragon Tears.
  • Upgrade two - The second and final upgrade for the gauntlet costs 90,000 Hacksilver, 25 Dust of Realms, and 3 Dragon Tears.

God of War Infinity Stone Locations

With the fully upgraded Shattered Gauntlet of Ages in hand, you can finally begin uncovering the six Infinity Stones scattered throughout God of War, which will allow Kratos to unleash the full, devastating power of the weapon. You can find a complete list of every Infinity Stone just below, as well as their locations:

  • Andavri’s Soul (Soul Stone) - Complete the Second Hand Soul Favor for Brok in Volunder Mines.
  • Asgard’s Shard of Existence (Reality Stone) - This is a reward for defeating the Valkyrie Rota in Helheim.
  • Eye of the Outer Realm (Space Stone) - Found in the Secret Chamber of Odin at the end of the Escape From Helheim main story quest.
  • Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind (Mind Stone) - This is a reward for defeating the Valkyrie Olrun in Alfheim.
  • Muspelheim Eye of Power (Power Stone) - Purchased from the Dwarven shop in Muspelheim.
  • Njord’s Temporal Stone (Time Stone) - This is a reward for defeating the Valkyrie Queen at the Council of Valkyries.

You have the option of installing three of the above Enchantments in the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages at one time in God of War. Just like any other Enchantments in the game, you can switch out any of the Infinity Stones whenever you want, but installing three at once will allow you to unleash a powerful projectile from the gauntlet that seeks out any enemies before you. Use it by pressing the left bumper and circle.
