Do You Need to Own Monster Hunter World to Play the Iceborne Beta?
Not at all! Over on the official Monster Hunter World Twitter account, the devs revealed that you don't actually need to own a copy of the base game, in order to participate in the beta. So if you're still on the fence about diving into the game, you can test out the new content.
Monster Hunter World Iceborne Beta Platforms
Right now, the Iceborne beta for Monster Hunter World will only be available to PS4 players. The Iceborne beta not arriving on PC or Xbox One might seem odd at first, but the beta for the main game back in late 2017 only ever launched on the PS4 as well. On top of this, the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World on PC will be launching later in Holiday 2019, after coming to PS4 and Xbox One.
How to Access the Monster Hunter World Iceborne Beta
You'll need to download an entirely new file for the Monster Hunter World Iceborne beta on PS4. Search for the beta file in the PSN Store, then initiate the 6.5GB download. Once you're done with this, you can either play the limited beta solo or co-op with others around the world.
