Injustice 2 Characters, Reviews, Release Date, Modes, Trailers and DLC Characters - Everything we Know

All the info on the character roster in Warner’s super hero fighting game, Injustice 2, plus info on game modes and release date. Sadly we don't know why Joker was so bad in Suicide Squad or why Batman vs Superman was awful!

Injustice 2 continues the story that was established in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the original game that released back in 2013. Whereas the original game pitted Batman against Superman as the central conflict, the situation in Injustice 2 is complicated by the arrival of Brainiac.

Featuring a playable character roster of near 40 heroes and villains, Injustice 2 boasts a variety of characters from across the DC Universe, such as Batman, Superman, The Flash, Doctor Fate, Cheetah, Poison Ivy, Bane, Atrocitus, and Gorilla Grodd. The Injustice 2 roster is massive! Near the bottom of this guide you'll find a complete list of all the Injustice 2 characters.

This page will act as a central hub of knowledge for Injustice 2, containing every new piece of information as soon as it is announced by developer NetherRealm Studios, including all Injustice 2 characters, Injustice 2 reviews, DLC Characters and more.

Injustice 2 Reviews are in and They're Good!

Injustice 2 launched in North America on May 16 and in the UK on May 19, and the first reviews for the game are now live. We've rounded up the best and the general opinion seems to be that the game is pretty great!

  • Gamespot: 9/10 - "NetherRealm has delivered a fighting game that can be enjoyed by new players and pros alike in ways that go beyond pure competition. It's a bar that every fighting game should meet, but one that has up until now seemed out of reach."
  • Eurogamer: Recommended - "In short, Injustice 2 is the complete fighting game package, and it's one I hope other developers in the genre take notice of."
  • Game Informer: 9/10 - "With DC’s cinematic universe pumping out one bad movie after another, Injustice 2 is the best way to see just how powerful and diverse its heroes are."
  • IGN: 9.0/10.0 - "Faster, deeper action and a wealth of content make this DC heroes fighting game feel super."
  • Kotaku - "Netherrealm Studios stumbling while adding an innovative new feature to Injustice 2 would have been much more tragic if the bits they normally excel at, fighting and storytelling, weren’t so spectacular this time around."

To celebrate the launch of Injustice 2 on PS4 and Xbox One Warner Bros. released a trailer showing off the game in action.

There was also a new trailer released for the mobile version of Injustice 2, which is available to download and play on iOS and Android right now. The game is free-to-play and links up with the PS4 and Xbox One versions. By completing missions and challenges in Injustice 2 Mobile, you'll be able to unlock gear and content for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One iterations.

Injustice 2's Second DLC Pack Revealed

In the trailer that you can see just below, NetherReakm Studios confirmed three more fighters that will be arriving in Injustice 2 through the Fighter Pack 2 DLC. This second DLC pack for the game includes Mortal Kombat's Raiden, supervillain Black Manta, and none other than Hellboy himself, although he's probably not played by Ron Perlman this time.

We don't have a firm release date for Fighter Pack 2 right now, but you can see all three characters briefly in action just below:

What is Injustice 2 About?

As previously mentioned, the first Injustice pitted Batman against Superman, as the former sought to overthrow the latter's control over Earth. While Injustice 2 continues this storyline with those who would wish to restore Superman's domination over Earth, Gorilla Grodd has also established a group named 'The Society', whose motivations as of right now remain a mystery.

This is all complicated by the arrival of Brainiac, one of the many brand new characters featured in Injustice 2, who poses a threat to the very existence of Earth, going far beyond the original battle that was fought over control of Earth.

Although Injustice 2 is primarily Batman's journey, the player is able to take on the role of other characters, including Aquaman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, and more. You'll face off against a multitide of villains, including Brainiac and Gorilla Grodd, as well as Deadshot, Cheetah, and Captain Cold.

This is only in the single-player mode of the game, whereas you'll be able to play as any character you like in the Metaverse. In this mode, challenges of different difficulty levels are presented to the player, changing daily and weekly to offer different rewards and different opponents to fight.

You can also unlock a horde of items for every playable character in Injustice 2, through both the single-player and the Metaverse challenges. For completing story chapters you'll receive character items, and for completing Metaverse challenges you'll receive Mother Boxes, containing a random selection of items.

The above trailer also revealed that Guilds would feature in Injustice 2, allowing players to climb the leaderboards as part of a group, while also reaping the rewards for completed Daily Challenges as a unit.
