The Dawning is returning to Destiny 2 in 2018, and here you can find information on the start date, new weapons, new quests, and more.
The Dawning event has now returned to Destiny 2 to close out 2018 in style, and will be here until the very beginning of 2019. In this complete Destiny 2 Dawning guide, we'll be walking you through everything there is to know about the ongoing event for Bungie's FPS sequel, including the eventual Destiny 2 Dawning end date, and more.
But the Dawning is far from the only event that's coming to Destiny 2 through the Season of the Forge. For a complete overview of the seasonal event, including various Exotic quests and other new weapons, head over to our Destiny 2 DLC guide.
Destiny 2 Dawning 2018 End Date
Back in the months following Destiny 2 releasing in September 2018, the Dawning kicked off in November. This year in 2018 however, the festival to mark the holiday season will be beginning at the slightly later date of December 11, and will be drawing to a close right as the new year comes around, on January 1, 2019.

As for the time that the Dawning event should kick off, there's nothing official from Bungie as of right now. However, based on past trends for the game, the Dawning should be kicking off at the following times on December 11:
- 9 am PT
- 12 pm ET
- 5 pm BST
- 6 pm CEST
Destiny 2 Eva Levante
You might remember that in early December, a Reddit post claimed that none other than Eva Levante would be featuring in the upcoming Dawning event. The tweet below from the official Destiny Twitter account confirmed as much in the following days, revealing that Eva would be making her first appearance since the original game.
The Dawning returns next Tuesday.

Our dear Eva Levante-who was instrumental in bringing the traditions of the Dawning to the Tower-returns with it. And she's bringing cookies!

The main form of currency in the Dawning event for Destiny 2 is going to be cookies, of all things. You can then take all the cookies you've earned and trade them in for various items, including the brand new Avalanche weapon that you can see just below. One of the main bonuses of this new weapon is that it features random perks, a rarity for the majority of weapons in Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 Mayhem PvP Mode
Back when the Dawning event debuted in Destiny 2, it arrived with the Mayhem PvP mode. This was a special Crucible mode in which all Super Ability cooldowns were drastically reduced, and resulted in a chaotic brawl of PvP.

At the current time, it's unknown whether the Mayhem mode will be returning as part of the Dawning 2018 event in Destiny 2. We'll keep an ear out for information from Bungie, and update this guide whenever any new information for the Dawning event is announced.
