Bluegleam in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds is a rare currency, and it’s the only way you can purchase some of the best weapons and armor in the DLC expansion, as well as the entire game in general. In this Frozen Wilds Bluegleam guide, we’ll be revealing the best locations in Horizon Zero Dawn for farming Bluegleam, the rarest currency in the game.

The Frozen Wilds Bluegleam Farming Guide
First off, Bluegleam is the currency that you’ll use to purchase the very best items in the Frozen Wilds DLC expansion, there are various new bows and armor items on sale from one of the merchants in the Song’s Edge town, but he’ll only sell you these powerful items using the currency of Bluegleam.
So, where can you find Bluegleam? Before we get onto all the best locations to farm Bluegleam in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds, you should always bear in mind that Aloy’s Focus to find Bluegleam sources near you. As you can see in the screenshot just below, you should always press in on the left analog stick to scour your surroundings, in order to check for any Bluegleam sources that may be lurking nearby.

On top of this, Bluegleam tends to be found in groups out in the world of the Frozen Wilds. You’ll practically never come across merely one machine corpse at a time holding Bluegleam for Aloy to scavenge, and so if you’ve found one machine corpse holding the rare currency, be sure to search your nearby surroundings for other corpses.

As you can see in the screenshot of the Frozen Wilds map just below, Bluegleam can actually be found in abundance just south of the Greycatch dam. These few groups follow the rule of Bluegleam regularly coming in groups of three or four at a time, although you can see one source of the currency to the north with just a single Bluegleam.

We’ll now post several of the best Bluegleam farming spots in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds. We’ll make sure to tag their points on the map, so you have no trouble finding the machine corpses that are holding the Bluegleam.
For the Bluegleam location just below, all you have to do is head roughly west from the Song's Edge town, round the mountain that you can't pass, and you'll find at least three blue machine corpses around a snowy clearing, all of which are carrying Bluegleam on them.


For the next major stash of Bluegleam in the Frozen Wilds, you can either head south from Greycatch dam, or you can head north from the sole Tallneck site in the expansion. Either way, you'll have to do a bit of platforming up the side of the mountain to reach the four blue machine corpses that are holding all the Bluegleam in the area.


We might have shown you the best farming spots for Bluegleam in the Frozen Wilds DLC for Horizon Zero Dawn, but don't forget that you can easily happen upon the odd machine corpse in the environment that will be carrying the rare item. Remember to use your Focus whenever you think you might have found a good spot for Bluegleam, and you'll be purchasing the best weapon and armor items in the expansion in no time.
