Fortnite Week 1 Challenges are back with a bang in Fortnite Season 4, having launched on the very same day as the brand new seasonal event. In this Fortnite Week 1 Challenges guide, we’ll be walking you through how to complete every single Week 1 Challenge, including tracking down the FORTNITE Letters, as well as how to find the Tomato Town treasure map.
If you instead need anything else on Fortnite Season 4, including how to purchase the various versions of the new Battle Pass and undertake these new challenges, as well as all the new character skins you can unlock straight away, make sure to head over to our Fortnite Season 4 guides hub.
Fortnite Week 1 Challenges List
Firstly, we should mention that, just like all throughout Season 3 of Fortnite, there isn’t an active timer on you having to complete all the Week 1 Challenges that we’re about to lay out just below. Any new Weekly Challenges that are launched in Season 4 will last until Season 4 ends in roughly ten weeks time, so you’ve got a lot of time on your hands to undertake any difficult challenges.
The best part of the Fortnite Week 1 Challenges sticking around for the full ten weeks is that you can jump in as late as Week 9, and still have a chance of obtaining the legendary Fortnite Omega skin, the highest possible item you can obtain through levelling up the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass by completing challenges.
As for the Fortnite Week 1 Challenges themselves, you can find the complete list just below:
- Deal damage with sniper rifles to opponents (250).
- Search chests in Haunted Hills (7).
- Use a Port-a-Fort.
- Search F-O-R-T-N-I-T-E Letters (8).
- Follow the Treasure Map Found in Tomato Town (Hard).
- Pistol eliminations (3/Hard).
- Eliminate opponents in Flush Factory (3/Hard).
How Hard are the Fortnite Week 1 Challenges in Season 4?
Follow the links just above if you need help on completing the few hardest tasks that the Fortnite Week 1 Challenges can throw at you, including tracking down eight letters spread out across the map, as well as how to follow the treasure map located in Tomato Town.
Just like in Season 3 of Fortnite, it appears like Season 4 will keep the pattern of four easier challenges, and then three ‘Hard’ challenges for players to undertake each week. We should also point out that you don’t have to complete any of these challenges in just a single game, as you can instead loot seven chests in Haunted Hills across as many games as you need, or eliminate three players with pistols across multiple games of Fortnite Battle Royale.
If you want to complete the challenges based around weapon eliminations with either the sniper rifle or pistol, then we’d recommend heading to a named location on the Battle Royale map as soon as you drop off the Battle Bus. It’s in the named locations that you’ll typically be able to find more powerful weapons, especially more powerful versions of sniper rifles and pistols.
As for using a Port-a-Fort, you’re again going to have to scour named locations for the elusive item. Alternatively, you could simply go on a killing spree until you eventually uncover a Port-a-Fort from the corpse of a player, although this is a decidedly more difficult tactic than scouring the map.
