How to Beat DJ Octavio in Splatoon 2

The trick to defeating DJ Octavio and recovering the brainwashed Callie is to constantly have a way to move around the battlefield quickly in your squid form. This means covering your surroundings in your own ink whenever you can, making sure you have a way to dodge Octavio's ink rain ability, or the bombs that he flings down at you.

The first three stages of the final boss are fairly similar, and in each stage you'll have to shoot the flying arms of DJ Octavio in order to send them back at him. Octavio has an increasing number of abilities in each stage, hence your need to move out of his way quickly to ensure you don't get splatted.

Shoot Octavio repeatedly at the end of each stage to progress to the next section of the fight, and after you've downed him three times, you'll be given the modified Rainmaker by Sheldon. Head to the middle of arena and use the portal to jump up to the rails, where you'll have to once again send Octavio's flying arms back at him in order to defeat him one last time.

Make sure to time your jumps from one rail to the other perfectly, just as Octavio's unblockable fist is almost upon you, as this will guarantee you don't get caught by it. Similarly, you should shoot any blockable fist back at Octavio as soon as possible, as you can still get hit for a few seconds after splatting the flying fist.

Once you've downed Octavio for the final time, hop onto the innermost rail, slide down to Octavio, and enjoy the fantastic end credits section of Splatoon 2.
