Fortnite Runes Locations - Where Are the Fortnite Runes?

There are three unique Runes scattered around the Fortnite map. Here's where the Fortnite Runes are located in the Fortnite Battle Royale map.

Just recently, Loot Lake was upended entirely, with excavation vehicles digging up a metal door where Kevin the Cube had once imploded (RIP). Now, there are three unique Rune markers scattered in the map of Fortnite Battle Royale, and they do something rather interesting when all three are activated. In our Fortnite Runes guide, we'll be providing you with a list of the three Fortnite Rune locations, answering the question of where are the Fortnite Runes, so you know where to head straight away.

Where are the Fortnite Runes?

Here's where all the Fortnite Runes are located on the Fortnite Battle Royale map. The green Fortnite Rune is located on the volcano, the red Fortnite Rune is found south of Shifty Shafts, and the blue fortnite Rune is found north of Pleasant Park.

Fortnite Green Rune Location

This green Fortnite Rune is located right next to the volcano, which was added to the northeast portion of the Battle Royale map at the beginning of Season 8. The volcano lies east of Lazy Lagoon, or southwest from Sunny Steps.

Fortnite Red Rune Location

To activate the red Fortnite Rune, you'll need to head south of Shifty Shafts. Atop a huge hill, you can find this Fortnite Rune location, which you'll need to whack with your pickaxe in order to rotate the Rune, so it's facing towards Loot Lake in the north.

Fortnite Blue Rune Location

Finally, the blue Fortnite Rune can be located just north of Pleasant Park. Again, as with the other two Runes, you'll need to hit it with your pickaxe as many times as necessary, to turn it towards Loot Lake in the southeast.

We should note that any three players in a single match of Fortnite Battle Royale can activate the three Runes. You don't need to be teamed up, or even working together to get the job done. You just need to find the three Fortnite Rune locations, and make sure they're all pointing towards Loot Lake.

Once all three Runes are pointed in the right direction, the blue shard that is hanging just above the metal door at Loot Lake will descend, slotting into the door itself. As of right now, this is where the mystery ends, as it's expected that further steps and solutions to this big puzzle will be revealed and implemented in Fortnite over the coming days.
