In the second Assassin's Creed Origins Trials of the Gods event, you'll have to complete the Trial of Sobek, the Lord of Waters. For the uninitiated, the Trial of Sobek follows on from the Trial of Anubis, and players will once again have to defeat an oversized god, in order to get their hands on an Anubis gear set item.
If you need anything else on Assassin's Creed Origins, including how to take down every memeber of the Order of Ancients, as well as how to farm money quickly and effectively, head on over to our Assassin's Creed Origins guides walkthrough hub.
Assassin's Creed Origins Trial of Sobek Guide
Similar to the original Assassin's Creed Origins Trial of the Gods, the Second Trial of the Gods event pits Bayek against a huge version of Sobek, the Lord of Waters. In basic terms, you're fighting a gigantic, human-like crocodile in the middle of the desert.
To begin the Trial of Sobek event, you must have first completed the Aya quest, and then make sure Bayek meets the required level to undertake the quest, which would be 40. You can attempt this Trial of Sobek event any time from November 21 to November 28, at which point the event will close, and you'll have to wait for the next Trial of the Gods event to claim another piece of the Anubis gear set.
As soon as you kick off the Sobek boss fight, you'll instantly notice the glowing point on his chest, and you'll have to repeatedly hit this with a bow, just like you did in the Anubis boss battle. We'd strongly recommend equipping a bow that gives Bayek health upon a hit, as it allows him to recover health quickly during this tough fight with Sobek.
In the ranged phase, you'll want to repeatedly dodge Sobek's area of effect attacks, which come up as red on the surrounding terrain, and will paint Bayek red if he's standing within them. Just keep on hitting Sobek with a quick bow, and you'll make it to the next phase of the fight in no time.
Whenever Sobek spawns soldiers around the arena, take them out with your melee weapons to save your arrows, while also making sure to recover any arrows from loot points around the battlefield. Bear in mind that Sobek's attacks can actually damage the soldiers as well as Bayek in this stage.
There aren't crocodiles apart from Sobek in this fight, like how there were jackals accompanying Anubis in the previous Trials of the Gods event. The ranged and soldier phases are easy to understand and take advantage of once you get the hang of the fight, just remember not to stay in the same area for too long.
Once you're eventually done with Sobek, you'll be rewarded with a single piece of the Anubis gear item set, just like you were upon completing the Trial of Anubis battle. You'll always gain one item from the set whenever you complete a Trials of the Gods event in Assassin's Creed Origins.
This might be it for the Trial of Sobek event in the Trials of the Gods, but make sure to keep an eye on our Assassin's Creed Origins guides, as we'll update them the moment the next event appears in the game.
