Persona 5 Scramble Release Date, Story, Gamplay Trailers and Platforms - Everything We Know

This is our guide covering the Persona 5 Scramble release date, platforms, gameplay and story details, and more.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will be launching for PS4 and Switch next year in Japan, and it'll actually be continuing the story from the main game. We'll get all our Phantom Thieves back together for another game, set in the Summer after the plot of Persona 5 concluded. In this guide, we'll be covering details like the Persona 5 Scramble release date, all the story details we know so far, platforms it'll be launching on, and more.

Persona 5 Scramble Release Date

The Persona 5 Scramble release date is February 20, 2020. However, as has typically been the case when Atlus reveals a release date for an upcoming game, this is only the Japanese release date for the spin-off.

Currently, there's no Western release date for The Phantom Strikers. We'll keep this guide updated with any additional information that Atlus releases, but it's worth keeping in mind that this game will likely release after Persona 5 Royal, which is scheduled for a Spring 2020 release window in the west.

Persona 5 Scramble Gameplay Trailers

Below, you can see the reveal trailer for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The game was originally teased under the "P5S" tag, leading plenty of people to believe that it was actually a Nintendo Switch release of the original Persona 5. This wasn't to be the case however, as the trailer just below revealed.

So what is Persona 5 Scramble? It's an open-world beat 'em up game, developed in partnership between Atlus and Koei Tecmo. In the trailer below, we can see Ren and the rest of the Phantom Thieves running around areas that we're familiar with from the base game, including Shibuya and other Tokyo locations.

It looks like you'll be chaining together attacks between multiple characters, against hordes of enemies in The Phantom Strikers. If you're familiar with the Dynasty Warriors games, this is in a pretty similar vein, albeit with proper story and character developments for our band of Phantom Thieves.

Persona 5 Scramble Story

Speaking of story, the most recent trailer for The Phantom Strikers revealed some story details. The Phantom Thieves, including Ren, Morgana, Ann, Ryuji, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, and Yusuke, all band back together 6 months after the end of the original game, coming back together in Tokyo for the Summer.

While here, they're going to be banding back together as the Phantom Thieves, combating Mementos and other unknown foes. Persona 5 Scramble is actually going to be a proper continuation of the story in Persona 5, bringing all our Phantom Thieves back together for another adventure.

What Platforms Will Persona 5 Scramble Release On?

Currently, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is slated to release on both PS4 and Nintendo Switch. This is the only time a Persona game has been released on a non-Sony platform, and although the Switch release is a lock, there's currently no plans to bring the game to PC or Xbox One.
