CoD WW2 Operation Shamrock Event
The Headquarters social hub area for Call of Duty: WW2 multiplayer has had a makeover to go with the Operation Shamrock and Awe event. it’s available right now, since the event began back on March 13, as patch 1.11 was made available to download (the patch comes in at roughly 3.5GB).
CoD WW2 Shamrock Event End Date
As for when the Operation Shamrock and Awe event is scheduled to draw to a close in CoD WW2, it’ll be wrapping up on April 3, which means you’ve still got a good few weeks to sample everything that the new update has dropped into the online mode of the game.
CoD WW2 Shamrock New Weapons
Speaking of new features made available for online CoD WW2 players, there are two new weapons that have been brought in with the Operation Shamrock and Awe event. The first of these is the MG-81 light machine gun, a welcome addition to a somewhat sparse lineup of light machine guns for WW2.
The second of these however is the M-38, with Activision itself has boasted has the “fastest aim down sight in its class”, along with a large magazine to go with it. This large magazine and fast aiming time looks set to make the M-38 a new contender for one of the better submachine gun weapons in CoD WW2, and it’s something you’ll likely want to try out straight away if you’re fond of submachine guns for WW2.
CoD WW2 Shipment 1944 Map
On top of all this, there’s the brand new map available right now for some CoD WW2 players: Shipment 1944, a remake of the incredibly popular map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. However, this new Shipment 1944 map is only available to Season Pass holders right now, but it’ll be made available for everyone else to play in just a few days time, on March 16.
Finally, Operation Shamrock and Awe brings the brand new Leprechaun Hunt Moshpit mode with it, which puts a twist on the Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch modes. If you’re playing one of these modes, you can find and kill a Leprechaun in-game, which will reward you with a full scorestreak. The rest of the game proceeds as normal.
The brand new War Machine DLC pack 2 is now live for Call of Duty: WW2 players on the PS4, coming at a later date to the Xbox One and PC. Head over to our CoD WW2 War Machine DLC guide for a complete breakdown of all the brand new content.
